Uh huh.

Thermaculite.

Them are the little thingies that collect on your dinner glasses when your dishwasher ain't working all that well (which mine ain't).

Little Klingons that that are telling me...."Listen Motherfucker....there's some shit in my little collector thingy that you should have cleaned out (I swear to God....I didn't know) that is now going to impede all the cleaning of glasses and dishes that I swear....I'm just going to fuck with you on...and you can push that cleaning button a thousand times....I know you want clean glasses...dishes....plates....even forks....I own this house....I own you...."

I could have called SEARS....but I wasn't going to kowtow to this little piece of shit machine.....

Me and my cats are going to hold out....that's fine...they can eat out of a can....so can I....

I will NOT give up!!!!

Motherfucking machines.....

I'm blocking the doors....

I have 27 days of cat food...and at least that much in chicken noodle soup.....

(I will NOT be taken down!)

I will defeat the Thermaculite.

i feel sorry for your cat who will die of starvation if you eat its food.

ok, now i know i'm old...there is a thing that we used to do to get dishes & glassware clean, called "washing the dishes"...this is accomplished by running hot water into your kitchen sink & adding a dishwashing detergent, usually a liquid that may be purchased in many types of stores...the detergent will foam up & make bubbles...then one places the dirty dishes, flatware & glasses into this bubbly water & uses a sponge or rag--also found in many stores & often close to the dishwashing detergent--to wash them...hands are involved in this process...after washing all the soil from them, the dishes, etc, should be rinsed with clear water, either by holding them under running hot water until all the little bubbles are gone, or by dipping them into another sinkful of clear water...then, they may be stacked on the counter & left to air dry or dried with a towel...i know, it's an archaic process, but if it was good enough for your great-grandmother, it should be good enough for you.....

Sand. The answer is sand. Thermaculite does not like sand. Sand does not like Thermaculite. They despise each other and, simply put, sand trumps Thermaculite.

Copious amounts of sand in the bottom of the dishwasher at the beginning of each cycle (yes, that means you'll have to manually stop the machine between each cycle to put more sand into it) will clear that Thermaculite right out.

Sand.

in a history book, right??

DesFIP -> RE: Thermaculite (8/20/2008 5:33:45 AM)

That's why you're supposed to add the Jet Dry. Now go use elbow grease to clean the top, bottom and all sides of the dishwasher to get the gunk out, and from now on add the Jet Dry.

I have a dishwasher. But I live alone, so I use it to store books in

lol That's great! A place to store your books. hehe

Yeah, I agree. Either scrub the dishwasher out to get it clean and then use jet dry, or do them damn things by hand. Not hard. [:D]
