I am blonde, so I have to keep it simple:

1.  The Title - witty, or pertains to something of interest to me
2.  The body of the post, if the title grabbed me.  If I get lost in the ramblings of the post (it is not clear or concise), I move on.

If I dont care about the post, I dont waste my time.  If I do...then I see where it goes.

Hello K of M,
I don't read the long postings ... 4 pages or more and I can't be bothered.  If it is shorter, I may read it and answer, or if I've answered and it becomes longer, I'll track it.  But generally, I follow certain areas of the boards - The Gorean threads because they are consistently serious.  Ask a Master cause, well the Masters are yummy (does that make me shallow?)  Ask a Sub/Slave because I like to see what the new folks are posting.  I love seeing the newbies experiencing this - their vibrance.  I always go to Bounty's over in Polls and Random Stupidity - just little nuggets of fun over there.

And finally, sometimes I read a thread and then post to it when I see things in a totally opposite way.  I read what others have said and I"m kind of dumbfounded by how they see things (I don't see them as wrong, it's just seeing things from a completely different angle).

And I love the "what's wrong with my profile" threads.  I don't care if they are attention seeking or a way to get people to look, advertising if you will.  Isn't that after all why we are here?  We all have our attention seeking ways.

I like to check out threads that have responses from a few people, esp if they are people I respect.  It takes me awhile to notice people, but when I do I kind of look to see who laste posted on a topic, and if it's one of those, I'll read it.  I always read anything that fairer than she writes.  She amazes me.

peace and passion,
sunshine

Usually the thread title attracts me, then the initiator of the thread, then a quick skim through the thread which is quickly turned off if it turns into hijacking.  There are a few people that post like yourself that more consistently than not add to the knowledge base.  Michael (or is that simplyMichael?) and a few others.

But again in order of what draws me: the title, author, content without the hijacking aspect.

Be well.

The title, simple curiousity and if I can glean any knowledge or share any information based on my limited experiences.

...So... what some of the things that attract you to the various threads?...

For me, the subject matter of the thread has to somehow resonate with me, whether it hits on something from my past experiences, something I hope to experience, or even just something I've thought a lot about over time.

It's kind of a cool thing (and sometimes insightful) to examine some of the topics here and put into words my personal views and such, and just see how they compare and contrast with what others are thinking. I won't lie, others here have impacted my views on a few matters discussed in the forums.

I sometimes wonder if my views have ever changed anyone else's mind, or if I'm more of a falling tree in the woods when there's no one around to tell whether or not they heard the sound...

I look for threads that have the potential to give me throbbing, leaky hard-ons.

Just kidding.

There is so much that is posted on the boards... a variety of topics that makes it almost impossible to follow everything or read everything.

So... what some of the things that attract you to the various threads?

For myself... it is of course.. like many something that specifically interests me... but so often what interests me is not immediately available or it's hidden within threads.  My girls are good at giving me a heads up when I see things that they know that will interest me.  But one of the techinques I use to follow things.. is to take note of who is posting to a thread.  This morning.. I see a new thread posted... opened up the thread and instead of reading the OP.. I skimmed down to see who posted.  I quickly noticed that there was some quality individuals that posted in the thread... so now .. when I have a bit of time.. I am going to go back and read what is being talked about.

Quality people in general tend to give you quaility results.  Even when something doesn't interest me.. I find that I am getting drawn to threads that have these quality people posting in.  There is so much to this lifestyle .. and I find that if all I did was read what interested me... I wouldn't really be opening myself to new ideas only to ideas that would validate my own opinions.  So.. I watch the people that I feel are quality individuals more than I am actually watching for things that interest me.  I am finding new life for myself on the boards for this reason alone.  For many that have been around doing what we do... after awhile new ideas on what interest you just don't come along very often.. in fact it rarely happens.  So many topics on the boards are just repeats of older threads...  But quaility people keep old ideas fresh for me.. also.. observing and reading these posts really open up my mind to things I didn't consider or think about before.  The list is not complete but when you read people like the.dark and Dark, Bita, Micheal, Mercandbeth, LaTigresse, Erin, Madrabbit, MissTress, MaamJay and Lucky ... just to name a few.  Individuals like this draw out more quaility people.. there are some I never take notice before..but am starting to because they posted in threads that some of the quaility people enjoyed... infact some of the quality people I watch for now... started that way for me.

So... quality attracts me!  I don't expect to agree with what they say and I don't even expect any of them to be on top of their game on every single post.. sometimes like me.. they say somthing rather foolish.... but more often than not.. I have enjoyed the mental stimulation.

Me, currently any thread that does not mention Obama ,his running mates and the forthcoming elections, it was interesting at first, but quite frankly, now it is being done to death.

I want to add one more thing.  There is a certain allure to reading some of the threads started by one particular person.  I just shake my head everytime she posts, but it's kind of fun watching the tempter tantrums.  They are always well thought out and logical, but still temper tantrums.  It amuses me.
