Vendaval -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 10:26:15 AM)

Good day georgia peach,

That was my disclaimer of, "Don't try this at home!"
(Imagines somebody accidentally shooting themselves in the boobage and the ER report)

Those who actually know how to use firearms safely will make their own informed decisions.

There are so many reasons I love garter belts....

Nah, keep it close to your heart with the safety on.
Corsets, their not just for holding daggers anymore.

(that's sarcasm people)

Sarcasm or not, Vendeval, it actually works quite well!  And so do those nifty lil 2 shot Lady's Pistols - I've had both .22 and 9mm short in that style - which were originally intended to be strapped to the thigh via a garter holster.

If I remember correctly. a 22 lr caliber handgun was used to by John Hinkley when he attempted to assassinate President Reagan. Senator Brady was put in a wheelchair and crippled for life by that caliber. Also, Israeli's top assassin's favor that caliber when doing wet work. It might not have as intimidating a bore as a larger caliber handgun but it sure can kill a person.

That's something my grandma would do. :P

subtee -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 2:08:50 PM)

Just this last week in Iowa two teenagers (in separate incidents) accidently shot a friend; a six-year-old shot himself; an 18-year-old committed suicide with a rifle. Sad.

Thadius -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 2:27:12 PM)

They learned not to play with loaded firearms the hard way.  Such a pity.

Back to the brighter side of grannies

It is sad...as would be a criminal hurting an elderly woman who had nothing to equalize the sitaution with.

Vendaval -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 9:14:37 PM)

Well, I have a family story about grannie power that does not involve firearms but rather an implement that most here have handled at one time or another.

Several years ago me mum and aunt were on vacation together and doing the tourist thing.  While visiting some monument or other a thief tried to cut my aunt's purse loose with a knife.  Mum saw what he was doing and started beating the hell out of him with her metal cane that she carries on account of the arthritis and all.  He ran off with naught but bruises for his efforts.

LOL, it could be worse, I seem to recall hearing about a would be mugger who broke into a little old lady's kitchen, whilst she was making dinner. First rule of idiot muggers...NEVER piss off a little old lady with a black iron skillet full of hot grease. I the hot oil treatment wasn't enough to give him an attitude adjustment, being repeatedly beaten about the hed and body with a cast iron skillet was [:D]

FR to Peach. I highly suggest getting ahold of some DRT slugs. The ultimate frangible handgun ammo. one slug, virtually anywhere in the body cavity, and the perp's going out with a toe tag.

                                                           I wish you well,

Just FYI...

NATO infantry doctrine is centered around a centerfire .22. And to whomever said they bounce around alot- yes. Yes, they do.

Vendaval -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 11:42:21 PM)

Never mess with any woman while she is in her own kitchen!    [sm=wife.gif]

GreedyTop -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 11:46:26 PM)

(what's a kitchen?)

Vendaval -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/21/2008 11:48:44 PM)

It's that place where you keep the diet soda and restaurant take-out menus, and the Fancy Feast for the furballs.  [;)]

GreedyTop -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 12:00:37 AM)

~FR~

On a sad note on grannies and punks, there is a news story here in nyc that shows an elevator video of a punk kid getting in alone with I think like a 74 yr old older woman, waiting till she was turned, but her in a stranglehold, till she dropped and stole her purse which held a few bucks, her benefits card, the punk bastard even took her cane.  Wish she had that cane prepared to use on him instead of keeping her standing. Damn crying shame these punks kids going after the elderly.  From the reports I have seen on TV and bear in my I dont have vivid memory, this a  rampant issue in some of the public housing apartments in Queen and Brooklyn I think.  I was vivid watching it. Again a case of protecting the rich and leaving the poor to fend for themselves. I will seach you tube and see if I can find a video of it. Its truly heartless. I hit paydirt, this is the video full more than what was shown on tv.

Cuffkinks -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 12:42:57 PM)

I don't know if this really has anything to do with concealed carry, but I say...
WAY TO GO GRANNY!!!!

Aynne -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 1:47:24 PM)

Thadius I am all for having handguns for home protection, but you don't need a conceal carry permit to do so. I have had a .45 and a .38 revolver  for years and if you are breaking in to my house you won't be breaking out. Yay for granny![:)]

See Thad, not all liberal feminists are anti gun meanies...[;)]

See there are things we agree on... Like this entire post.

Aynne -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 1:52:50 PM)

There is probably more even but the meanies you run with keep throwing me out of Gor.[8D]

Thadius -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 1:56:48 PM)

Perhaps, if you weren't carrying that loaded .45, folks might have a different opinion. [;)]

Aynne -> RE: An example of concealed carry laws working... (8/22/2008 2:13:55 PM)

But Thadius I have to come loaded when I go there, they scares me! [;)] 'Specially those grouchy FW.

*loaded in the armed definition, too early for the other one yet although it is past 5, right? Pass the tanqueray please.[:D]
