Ok, sometimes I really wish they had hotlines you could call up and talk to someone just cause you're lonely and life is sucking right now, or you need a friendly ear, and none of your friends or on, or they are, and they're just not the type you can dump on. and not just suicide hotlines.

Technically you can call a suicide hotline and say you're not suicidal you just need some company, but I've always hated doing that It also takes away phone people from people who ARE calling with serous problems. It'd be nice if the line was kink friendly too lol, so I could feel safe about what was really bothering me, with out trying to remember to change everything from my daddy, to my bf lol.

There are groups out there.  You just have to get out and get to them.  Look in the local newspaper. 
Get out, make some friends. 

You'd be surprised how many people call the suicide hotline just to talk.  I used to be a crisis counselor.
It isn't only you.

It's not easy for the individual to recognise how serious their case may be and I'm sure many people who are in a seriously bad situation refuse to seek help for the reasons you just mentioned. Besides they get paid for how many people they save so technically you are helping them.[8|]

I think that you will find that many crisis lines are staffed by volunteers, at least in Australia they are, and people are not paid per life they save.

To the OP: Browsing through the yellow pages around here (sue me... I get bored from time to time) I see a number of help lines of all kinds, not just suicide prevention. There's even some helpful information in the green pages (they could be blue... blue on yellow pages makes the ink somewhat green in my books) as to where various social and fellowship clubs and groups meet, the times they meet, and the telephone numbers to call for more info.

My suggestion is that to check out your telephone directory. Prior to the internet mucking things up, it was the standard bearer for looking up all sorts of things like this in the real world.

When I read your thread's title, I was thinking more in the lines of:
Legal Advice, Mechanic, and Medic; it seems I am always in need of one of the three and often need input from all three in one day.

Not to mention my father was a carpenter that didn't know how to build his own barn but rather chose to ride a donkey halfway across the desert.

Oh hell every now and then I get the urge and pester a few on the others side thats all I ever got, I generally use it for rattle idiots now and then.

The only valuable friends I ever met here was via the forums but that just friendships, Solid but good friends.
