I believe we can be unbalanced in either direction - too much feeling or too much thinking. I have found that I make my best decisions when I use each of those in more or less equal proportions, and use each to help inform the other. I've even come up with a word to describe the "state" of having both of those in harmony with each other: theeling.

Your point though, is a good one.

Hey miss t,
 
This may sound cold and rational of me, but consider the source of those messages. 
 
Whose opinions really matter to you?  People who have taken the time and effort to get to know you, or those making snap judgments and flippant remarks? 
 
I keep a mental file box of where to file remarks - worthwhile, has a few good points and toss in the trash.
