While I don't know of any democrat and only 1 republican that would qualify it's probably easier just to list the main qualification.
1.Consistent Record of hating big government. A deep desire to eliminate 80+ percent of the bureaucracy. That's my main want really. Destroy the power structure, and leave only that which actually serves a real beneficial purpose.
Give me that and I don't care if they are a Democrat, Republican, Green, Lib. Whatever.
It's an impossible dream, though because people rarely elect people to destroy what is enriching them(politicians, big corps). A revolution of epic bloody proportions would be the only way a person that might be qualified to sit in the presidents chair will ever get there.
IMO. Like one of the founding fathers said something like a society should go through a revolution every few generations. I think that is accurate, or else the power structures become to defined and inflexible.

To answer your question.
A dead democrat would run on the Democratic side, because I don't agree with a single one of them on the most important issues to me. (Reduction of government)
And Ron Paul, would try to do the destroy the bueracracy thing on the republican side. But besides him, I don't know anyone else.
And as far as independents, well that would be me.
I'd try to.
Reduce the government size and scope.
Reduce the military.
Remove most foreign bases.
Eliminate the present corp tax, and income tax entirely.
Only tax would be on NEW goods sold.
Eliminate all domestic spying.
Put the remaining military to work on the borders and coast.
Remove us from the UN, and all protection pacts and agreements.
Foreign trade policy, would be called a copy machine.
No Government Foreign Aid to any country.
Ban on selling any and all Military equipment to foreign countries.
Elimination of all welfare programs except for the disabled, and children.
Restructure property taxes to be based on a percentage of the undeveloped land value. As in the inheritant value of the land created by it's location to society built value added things like off ramps, and road access. No tax on structures, of any kind. Easily just eliminated all the property tax evaluaters useless asses their, and created a more fair equitable system that encourage structure improvements.
Any country that attacked us, would be nuked out of existance. Official policy. No invasion, no nothing, we will fucking nuke you and every citizen you have to death. So, do not attack us. No one would by the way, with such a policy.10 day notice will be given to remove the present regime, if the country wishes to avoid such a fate, and replace it with one of our selection. This will be the only way to avoid complete destruction. MAD or it's variant Unilaterally assured destruction.
