Congratulations!!   When my brother's five year "maintenance payments" ended, he took us out to celebrate...I'm just sayin' [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m9.gif[/image]

Psst...."maintenance payments" are funds paid to an ex-spouse for a specified amount of time after a divorce.  This usually occurs when one spouse's income is much higher than the others.  Which means Jeff now has more disposible income.

dear LaT,

i love the link you provided and i love you for it over and over again!  while i'm sure that the dom type person in my life wont' be so thrilled about it, you can rest assured that there is at least one person who loves you for the resources and other things it provides.  thank you from the bottom of my heart and the bottom of His checkbook.

Payments made to the spouse who hadn't worked much in the marriage, or the one who doesn't have the skills or education to get a decent job, it helps them ease back into the workforce. Or at least this is the reason that most couples appear on Divorce Court.  I personally think it is just another reason to not get married again.

Or sit around and bemoan the fact that working is so hard until it is too late to actually prepare for the inevitable end of said payments and then try to emotionally blackmail someone into feeling sorry for her and continuing to pay.

Luckily.............. I  am able to ignore such behaivior...[8D]
