If the sub (or dominant for that matter) truly needs a particular fetish, it will be hard to just "put it away". Not impossible, mind you, but no matter how honestly he or she believes it can be set aside it is likely to be a struggle. I think it is a bit silly to post a profile that is all about XXXXX, then tell people that XXXXX doesn't really matter. Though it may not be a completely valid example, I do speak from experience. While I would not call my crossdressing a "fetish", since I never needed it to achieve sexual gratification, trying to just stop it for the sake of a vanilla marriage really didn't work. I could only suppress it for so long...long story short, the marriage eventually ended. Though I am in remission (as I call it) and engaged, I in no way believe that this part of me is gone. My partner is fully aware of this aspect of my personality (hell, I was dressed when we met!) and is supportive of whichever way I go on it. Tasha
