I reiterate - capitals at the beginning of sentences, and paragraphs would make your posts way more easier to read. You lost me after the first paragraph, and you may actually have something to say - but i won't be reading it because its too hard to read.

Ahh - the profound surity of youth that what they have to say has such value.    Well, actually, it well might have value, but if no-one reads it then it doesn't do anyone any good! [8|]

i know of one person that is soooooooooo much of a control freak that he not only doesn't let anything slide, he's going to die trying to save the world...
as for me, i let a lot of things slide; it's what keeps me sane[;)]

nor can I be a leader to all those who need guidance or a dominant to all the submissives who are lacking one.

i quit reading after that line. i've corrected enough English 101 papers to know what the rest would be. i'm with celticlord on this one ...  the wild hairy monkey sex is what's really important, lol.

Anyone who has read my posts knows I have a philosophical and spiritual bent.

Just not one for the pretentious.

I have been away for way too long, or could it be that I care way too little, anyway, I just won't even try to read this.  So I guess what I'm saying is that yes, I can let that which does not matter truly slide.

I got bored after the second...erm...paragraph.
Can someone explain please? [8|]

Oh good... thought it was just me.

Lol no I don't think so...seems to be the general theme.
In answer to the post though. Yes the things that don't matter, let them go.

Arastella -> RE: The ability to let that which does not matter truly slide (8/26/2008 9:43:37 PM)

I think he is explaining that from the time of our youth, we are taught to believe what those older, "wiser", tell us.  Not to doubt, not to delve into something not shown to us.  And that, what we really need to remember is not to let the words of those who shun us affect us, not to doubt our desires, that which gives us pleasure, but to open our arms to it.  Embrace it.  A LARGE number of us involved in the "lifestyle" have gone through some pretty rough experiences in our time, and some have pushed BDSM out of their lives, because either they were hurt, or shunned because of it.  The key is not to give up on that which makes us happy, gives us pleasure, fullfills us.  I'm a big reader so I get into long posts all the time.

I missed that memo. Now, what if I've been doing it all wrong???

I skimmed through the OP and then read the responses. That made me wonder if the OP was really worthy of all the "snark". Soooo....I went back and read the OP....and then I read it again. (See, I really AM a masochist). On my second read through I realized that I recognize this. It's a distant memory for me though as I thought that LSD went out of style a whole bunch of years ago. What a trip dude!

So we've got AA's primary reason.

And celticlord's primATEly reason.

= = =

AA:   No, you don't have "a knack for explanation".  You have desire to communicate, a good vocabulary...and a drive to pontificate.  To communicate you need to get people's attention; establish in their mind that the info will interest or be of value to them; proceed to make your points clearly and, one would hope, concisely.

I concur with the "your info won't help if people don't read it" comments.  And with the "briefer & with paragraph breaks" advice.  We have cultural ADD.  I'm a reader, but my eyes glazed & I didn't finish your screed.

I don't know if, after these comments, you followed through on your "will post daily on the same subject" plan.  Daily?  On the same subject?  Heck, even preachers give it a week and pick a different lesson.

Consider a blog.

Your headline caught my eye in the blue scroll box.  I've seen fight club but didn't connect it with your post.

And to MonkeyOnTuesday: Very cool to have chosen your nic based, I'm supposing, on Penn's radio show / podcast.  Man, I miss that show.  Ah, to hear again...

It's MmmmmmmmmONKeyyyyyyyyyy TUUuuuuuuessssdayyyyyyyy!

Okay, soda came out of my nose when I read that.  Ouch, but funny!  :)

DesFIP -> RE: The ability to let that which does not matter truly slide (9/5/2008 6:35:19 PM)

Your ability to communicate would be greatly enhanced if you began using paragraphs. As is, the post is too difficult to read, not to mention filled with truisms.

About the poetry, the less said the better.
