you can buy folders, or binders with a D ring ... the except in the folder the 'D' is reversed.  It keeps the pages together like the binding on a book ... it's more stable way to keep lots of papers that are referred to lots ... like an instruction manual, or other reference material.  Most binders/ folders have an O ring or are a lever arch file.

yep i used to work in a stationery store ...

Thanks everyone, now we all know what a D-ring is.

Now how does a D-ring turn??

You wouldn't use them for your car wheels that's for sure, unless you wanted constant neck and back pain after a journey.

I'm pretty sure it is a play on words from soap opera stuff, 'As the World Turns'.. 'As the D Ring Turns'.

Nothing kills a joke faster than trying to deconstruct it.

The list Admin is basically implying that, because of all the "drama" shown in these discussions, that they have become something like a soap opera. It's is a play on the title "As the World Turns" which is one of the longest running soaps in American TV.

The earlier poster is quite right: "D" rings are one of the most common types of steel rings found on leather gear, because the flattened part of the "D" allows a strap to be riveted on either side of it without stressing the leather.

The subtitle is meant, I'm sure, as a affectionate joke on our getting a little too wound up over some of the topics.

Sheesh.

"Who recently searched for your profile?" Huh?

I don't have that above my "who's viewing me?".

Please describe what you see, and where exactly is it?

Dream,
It just says "Users who have recently searched for your profile". Then it has either a list or a photo of the member (s). In my case, *I* am the only one who has done a search on mine lol

As far as the "D" in D-Ring, I think it may stand for Drama. As The Drama Turns lol or at least that is my impression. I could be wrong..and all that good shit.. <g>
