If anyone is still looking for a room...

The Stratosphere has rooms on Thursday for $35.  It's the Friday and Saturday price that skyrockets.  There is a motel less than a block away, The Aztec Inn, that runs about $45 per night. Traveler reviews show it is a clean, basic room, no frills.  The restaurant is given good marks, with comments like "tasty home-cooking".  Looks like a number of people stay at the Stratosphere during the week and then move to the Aztec for the weekend.  It doesn't look like this motel is available to reserve from travel sites, but google will pull up their phone number.

All hell - I'll call in sick for you! We're leaving at 10:00!

We're planning on leaving at 9:00 but usually going into the 'dungeon' play room to pick out what toys we're bringing somehow always takes longer than projected.

By the way, doncha think it's really ODD that Fort Myers, Florida is cheapest of all these so far?  Cheaper than Chicago, Detroit, etc.  Whoda thunk it????

Anyone look into flying into LA via Long Beach and Jet Blue and then taking the 45 minute hop to Vegas?

The Jet Blue connection is not a deal for most people.  Getting there on Thursday is cheap, but trying to go home on Sunday is the budget-killer.

On Sunday afternoon we have Steel's brother's play.  We're still not sure of the start time, probably somewhere between noon and 2 pm.  Other than that, I think most everybody wants to go to the Friday night munch.
