Status: offline 		 I usually have my eyes closed.  For me is not like mistoferin said, i KNOW i am with ther right Dom and i have fully given myself to him heart body and mind.  I do love to look into his green eyes and when we are just laying there holding each other .  When i get aroused though my eyes just close.  Until i looked at this thread i never really thought about it but they do.  If Master wanted me to look at him i would it is not a deal breaker and it would not take me out of my headspace.  It would be just something he wanted.

I have to agree with you here, CP, without looking into the eyes the interaction is not complete.

I do love looking at someone's eyes and seeing their emotions though, but that's normally afterwards or when I'm unsure.

I have to trust you to shut my eyes and let go.

Status: offline 		If I'm just playing with some one with no emotional attachment whatsoever, during sex my eyes are CLOSED. Period. I tried to look them in the eyes a couple of times, sometimes I would bust out laughing at the faces they made! (I have a TERRIBLE laugh reflex) I've kept my eyes open only a handful of times and it was always with some one that I genuinely care for. I don't know why, but in those situations it always makes for a very sensual experience. Maybe it's because while I'm willing to share my body, I'm not willing to share my heart? Sounds silly, but it's the only explanation I've ever been able to think of.

I would think that to be an excellent idea! However, this one time I did try that,  He wanted me to  take all his cock, but what i did was go call the cops. Could not understand why such a request in the heat of the moment, all I did was obey..*shrug*... Never mistake braille for a bad case of heat rash... thats all I have to say about that......

During most scenes i have no probmel looking in to his eyes but some times after harder scenes he takes me to a place i can bearly look in to his eyes and i love that feeling. i love that uncomfotable feeling. it takes me a while coming down enough and i need loads of cuddeling and ashuranse when it happends

its the same with words, Master is a talker and asks things during both scenes and sex and i  have a hard time trying to put words together to answer him. im overloading on everything else and now he whants me to actualy listen and think to??? But its good for me i think, forces me to focus more on him than on my own reaction to him.

I dont know why, its just me. Helps me focus.

And that is exactly why so many people have an issue with the "eyes open" thing. i can not keep my eyes open during play or sex. Too much sensation...takes me right out of my headspace. Counting strikes is the world's worst idea ever conceived....(and im including the Clapper in that list)(clap on...clap off...).

Last week i was suspended and playing...and i heard him say...i dont know which to use now...hmmm....the blue cane...the belt....blue cane...belt.
He was conflicted and so i turned as much as i could and made the all important eye contact....He smiled and walked off muttering..."okay, belt it is, my sweet."

Status: offline 		I guess since I identify more as top/bottom the whole 'connecting' thing isnt as important to me? Or maybe it's that there havent been that many I WISH to connect that deeply with.

although.. there is a guy I know who is such a skilled top/dominant that I wold have liked to have had a deeper connection to, and even then, I wasnt able to do the eyes open / talking thing without snapping out of space.

*shrug*

it works for me....

Status: offline 		i think that my connections with my partners is based in friendship first and foremost at this time...so its a titch more casual than if i were interacting with a dominant that i was dating or seeing romantically (incongruous as that sounds). i make eye contact with Midnght because we were beating buddies before we became more involved. He doesnt do much in regard to protocol and so we dont. i have eye contact restrictions with one partner. He has rules and i follow them in context of our play and it works because that is what he wants. i wouldnt choose the rules he has set up but i like how he uses them in our scenes.

But in the heat of the beat so to speak...i just cant open my eyes. And if i do see what is coming for me ive been known to call out....switch!...because if i see that black and red coming for me i know im in for a world of hurt...(black and red flogger type thing made out of some sort of plastic material harvested directly from the bowels of hell and used to make me cry and beg for my mommy.) i thought there was nothing out there more painful than spline...and i was soo wrong.
