Not unless you marry them. Or, they apply and successfully get any number of work visas - but that takes time, money and skills that are in demand in this country (ie, getting sponsored by a company with a need). A person can come into the US for up to 6 months on a tourist visa. They cannot work legally during that time. You can have them overstay their tourist visa, but they won't be able to cross the border and come back in - ever. They would be here illegally. I immigrated a Canadian legally through marriage. I thought it would be a no-brainer with a variety of options and flexibility since he was college educated, had no legal troubles, was employable. I found out that it was a much bigger nightmare than that. We got an attorney and did it all legally, but it still required we get married while he was here in a tourist visa. All the other options required a ton of waiting time, paperwork, and being separated. Immigration sucks. Akasha
