The difference in my opinion is mindset. One is negative the other positive ... glass half full vs glass half empty ... the outcome is not different .. the feeling/emotive/environment changes ...
I will vote for ... because he/she is ....
vs
I won't vote for ... because he/she is ...
if the deciding factor is aesthetics such as, male/female, black/white skinned, green/blue eyed ... the decision is bsed on such poor criteria
if the deciding factor is how they voted while in another office, their viewpoint on XYZ, how they treated their dog ... at least it's based on actions.
