I was wondering if anyone here had proformed a play piercing that they had put jewlery in so the sub could wear it like any other piercing?

I wanted to pierce a subs nippls and was looking for advice on here about what type of mood and any ideas to use in this scene. Also if anyone had any experience, how I should go about the piercing itself?

This is only a new idea and is still one we're looking into... I know there are risks (although male nipples are less risky than female ones) and I will be looking on BME and other piercing sites soon, but wanted to check here soon.

Thanks ladies.

I'm not sure I completely understand.. but you want to do a permanent piercing in a play setting?

I think permanent piercing really requires a lot more stuff in terms of safety and training to do that... at least for me.. I do a lot of play piercing, some of it with things like 12 and 14 gauge needles, so they could be made permanent I suppose -- I wouldn't however because of the context they are done in...

I'm not sure how much experience you've had with play piercing but for the most part its done with higher gauge (i.e. smaller) needles...

I do both play and permanent piercings. They really are two different animals. The aseptic environment in a permanent piercing is important. There are special needles that make it possible to insert the jewelry without tearing up the newly pierced hole. There is also some anatomy that is important to know before doing permanent piercings of things like nipples, etc.

Play piercing is done with flexible catheters (like for putting in IVs). They're typically smaller-gauge needles, and require different technique than permanent piercings.

I'm getting ready to take a refresher in permanent piercing, since I haven't done any in the past year and it is something where regular practice makes a difference for the recipient in terms of aesthetics and healing. There really is a technique to it.

One option you might have is talking to a respected local piercing artist, and finding out what he or she would advise about properly setting up the location you've chosen and about technique for permanent piercing to make sure that the process goes smoothly.

As CallaFirestormBW has pointed out, play piercing and permanent piercing are two different activities and require different equipment.  Before doing either you should find someone with experience who can guide you in your decisions, teach you how to do this safely, and help you choose those items you will require.  There is nothing worse than a person trying to do something like that using the wrong equipment and wrong technique.

As for mood...when we do play piercing we're usually laughing and having fun.  Heck, if it's not fun we have to wonder if it's worth doing at all.

~fast reply~

One other thing about permanent piercing -- since permanent piercings are usually just one or two piercings, they make for very short 'scenes', since there is just a single puncture and placing/closing the jewelry. After the piercing, the area that was just pierced becomes "off limits" for play until the healing period is up (the healing period for nipples is 3-6 months -- no oral stimulation, no flogging of the nipples, no pulling on the piercings, etc.) so this is something that has to really be planned for. Doing a piercing early in a scene can bring the scene to an abrupt halt if there are any issues, and the things that can be done -after- a piercing has been done need to take the new piercing into consideration (for example, depending on how a St. Andrew's Cross is set up, it is important to make sure that the piercee's nipples are not in contact with the cross, and that a flogger or crop doesn't wrap the newly pierced nipple).

Thank you for your responces.

I suppose I put that the wrong way, I want to do a perminant piercing in a play session.

I know about healing times and what it feels like to have a piercing heal as I have a few of my own. I also know how frustrating (and painful) it is when someone else ignroes you when you say a piercing's new and they shouldn't touch it/play with it. So I wouldn't be doing that to anyone else.

To Calla, and anyone else who has done piercing before, have you ever run into anything unexpected/had anything go wrong when you proformed the piercing and how did you deal with it?
