Illinois Democratic hug fest at convention

From Chicago Tribune.
"...An emotional U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. called on warring Democrats to unite Wednesday at their national convention and said he wouldn't be satisfied unless Gov. Rod Blagojevich and House Speaker Michael Madigan hugged."

I was giggly watching this.

A round of Kum-bay-ya and Ted Kennedy proposing a toast and we'll have the schedule laid out by The Guy From Boston

Madigan will gladly hug Rod, just get him a sharp knife first.

They really need to have pay per view coverage of the budget negotiations between these two. It would help the budget shortfall.

My favorite moment was...
quote:

DENVER (AP) _ Barack Obama's chances of winning the White House won't be harmed by his home city's reputation for shady politics or his connections to a 1960s radical, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley said Tuesday.
Daley predicted voters will elect the candidate with the best plan for creating jobs amid a faltering economy.
...

"Go to New York. Go to Washington. Go to Philadelphia," Daley said. "All politics is rough and tumble."
Politics didn't take up all of Daley's time. He also took a few minutes to visit an oxygen bar next to the AP's office at the Democratic convention. Putting a little tube in his nose, he sampled 92 percent pure oxygen infused with lavender (for relaxation) and then apple (health and happiness).
"I feel good. We should get all the delegates to try this," he joked afterward.

Sounds like the PC way of getting friendly and freaky!
I would really enjoy that part....how long are we allowed to "hug"?
Would we get a chance to hug Mr. Obama and a few others?
