In my experience....members of these clubs change so often that there is a chance the people attending this party are not even all of the same people you knew before. Might you be concerned for no reason? : ) Let us say for the sake of arguement (Not that ANY of us argue.......*cough*) that there are people you know attending the party as well -- hold your head high, smile, feel genuinely happy to be there .... that is what will come shining through : )

How funny you should bring this up. I'm going through this right now. I have gained close to 15lbs and I'm short and small boned so it looks like 25lbs as far as I can tell. I feel like I'm failing in this aspect of my service. I struggle to get my sloth-like ass on the eiliptical or bike. He has not made too much of an issue out of it but has mentioned it, which translates to *me* as..lose the weight. I do see this as an aspect of my service, one of the reasons he took me on was because of how I looked. I'm working to lose it and hope to by the end of year.

You are not alone.

Okay so since you look at it as a function of service consider it this way. You can go to the event and get so focused on *you*rself and how *you*'ve failed and what *you*'ve done wrong that you can yet again fail in being of service in terms of being a pleasant companion (in however your dominant defines that).

So this might sound harsh but I would say, stop focusing on yourself and get over yourself. Re-focus on providing good submission/service (including loosing the weight), not on how you've failed (assuming that you seem to feel that you have, I'm not making a judgement on whether you did).

Raise your hand if you'd like to have one day where you don't think about your weight, good or bad. I recently shed 15 pounds, without trying. Now I spent time yanking up my skirts, slacks, and jeans.

<laughing hysterically> Thank you, Wildfleurs! I really did need to hear something along these lines. You are right...its not about me and if he is so terribly displeased, I have no doubt he would correct me. The feelings come from me and I'm putting those feelings on to him, when he hasn't given any indication that he views this in any way other than another one of those ups and downs in life.

How refreshing you guys can be [;)]

Anyway, I am just recovering from a nasty bout of food poisoning, so I definately have a different perspective today than I did when I originally posted.
