I've been looking around for a pet for valael and it seems either people don't know exactly what a BDSM pet is, or they're not really sure about considering it.  valael suggested collarme as she's been here before, but personally, I'm having the same problem.  I've found some delicious profiles for submissives and slaves, but still nothing about pets.  So I'm curious about what everyone thinks about it.

How about clarifying what it means to you first so that anyone who responds can give appropriate feedback.

Edit: After reading your profile it Looks like you're looking for a pony or puppy girl, but you could definately make that a lot more clear in your profile.

I consider myself a puppy girl ^_^ I Love puppy play.

I think to me, it's treating the submissive as you would a domestic animal. For example, valael loves cats and kittens, so when we're playing, I treat her like one.  When she's good, she gets to curl up around me and I'll pet her and give her treats.  I love it when she purrs.  When she's disobedient, I'll send her away and she won't get any affection.  I talk to her and play with her like I would with a cat or kitten and expect her to respond like a cat.  I'll have her eat and drink from bowls on the floor, though I draw the line at a litter box and it's highly amusing watching her playing with a ball of wool or twisted willow.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

Oh - oh  - i have a bdsm pet - its my african grey parrot   -    she does a perfect whipping sound - usually when Sir and i are in the dungeon, making said whipping sounds.
She also loves play parties - and really gets social  , but beware getting too friendly, because as a domina bird she will cause pain to the unwarey.

I don't know that I can explain what's going on Pen.  But I'll offer you this.  I personally know next to nothing about all the BDSM slang.  Yet even so, your description is what I would've written also.  That makes me think it's gotta be a fairly wide spread thing or I wouldn't know about it well enough to describe it exactly as you did.

Pets tend to be a specialized niche. There are a few pet play message boards out there but they tend to be dwindling away.

Lol, my miniature parrot refuses to have anybody in my room whose head is above mine, and is nicknamed the raptor bird because she threatens almost everybody.

I don't know that you will always find such information in someone's profile.  There may be many forms of play that either the person is not familiar with or is not comfortable making public knowledge.  I do not have every single form of play I would consider listed in mine.  Also look for other clues (grins at my screename).

Further, I think the dynamic is not the first thing to start with when looking for the right person anyway.  I am more interested in whether our views of both D/s and lifestyle match, our intensity levels of S/m, and outside interests.  From there, after good communication is established one can begin the investigation into what kind of dynamic all would enjoy.  It takes time to find a good match, and hopefully will yield many friends along the way regardless if you ever play.

In general if you are looking for a pet I would suggest you go for the subs and slaves that seem highly submissive. Most subs and slaves unless they say otherwise can become pets quite easily, simply have the person who is looking train them once you get them to be pets. Those who are already pets in mentality would of course be preferable but espeically in slaves they are what you train them to be.

Thats just kitty play. That is far from hard to find on here.
Fox is my pet, he is very much a lapdog. (Lap Fox, he corrects) You need to find someone looking for animal play, puppy, kitty or the like.
Dont look for PET, look for the specific animal and you wil have better luck.

I have a puppy who didn't even know he was a puppy when I met him over two years ago, , but you can search for people who list pony/puppy role play as an interest, if you are so inclined.

good morning folks

I have always been a little suspicious of the word "pet" even though I use it personally alot.  I too enjoy ponies, puppies and kitties and foxies and all the little pets of the human animal kingdom.  I love having playtime with a human kitty swatting at the trailing belt of my robe or nuzzling me in the morning.

But I've also come across a variety of what I refer to as the "captive slave" These are the folk that start off their letters with "keep me in a cage, treat me as your pet, put me back in the cage when your done with me" and further conversation with them leads to things like - I don't want to work, I don't want responsibility, I don't want to have to wash dishes or do anything other than have someone take care of me.  (Wow, I don't even get that as a Dominant!)  Now - I know that in the realm of human animals there are some folks that like that and that's awesome! I had a wonderful friend who had a human puppy that lives fully as a dog and they were blissfully happy.

But I see a difference between (for instance) a kitty who wants to curl up in my lap for an hour of stroking and then happily goes to help me with the house versus a freeloader who just doesn't want to live life outside of their fantasies.  This is the "keep me in a cage and never let me out" captives that just make me go . . . hmmmm.

And on the off topic of bdsm sounds: LOL When I had my first dungeon I had a Catalina Macaw (they used to be called Rainbow Macaws) named Master Scarlet that would mimic pain sounds "Ow"  "Uh" and say things like "Yes Mistress." and "Bad slave"  and "and even once warned a toy of mine "I'm telling mommy" He never would do the whip sound though.

Peace and light
Miss Lily

I have run into the problem of things seem to be going good or where i get a first reply email form a Domme saying they don't want a pet because they don't want someone who is just looking to be taken care of and nothing els
i will usually reply with the same email to this all the time
I understand there are the ones who think being a pet is mean nothing other than being able to sit at home lazy and be played with all the time and not have to work
but that is not me i enjoy serving and pleasing
or i will get the email reply saying i love to play fetch and watch a puppy wag his tail and pet him or her but i am also a sadist so i don't think this would work out
i will reply with
just because i am a pet does not mean i am not a masochist i understand there are lots out there who just want the sensual side but this is not me and i hope we can talk

i hate it when i run into others who say or do this not because i hate the ones who say it but i hate the ones who ruin it for the real pets out there

I hope you understand that I was in no way defaming pets.  I have had so many wonderful puppy play toys who were also the best masochists, or wonderful masseurs, or  . . . just wonderful service submissives and a joy to have.

I like you, am just pointing out that in the realm of pets - just as there is in every other realm of WIIWD - there are those that so take advantage of one aspect that it tends to ruin it for others.
