My business will do better with McCain in office than Obama.

So McCain gets my vote.  Without question and without hesitation.

I suspected as much: why not just say that, instead of covering things up with fake moral outrage over Obama? The rest is just piffle, fluff to try and cover up your voting motivation.

Kittin, there is nothing fake about my sentiments towards Obama.

It is sad, pathetic, and disgraceful that a man so utterly lacking in anything resembling governing skill or leadership ability could be touted by so many as someone to whom the Oval Office should be entrusted.

Yeah yeah yeah  . At least now we all know you'll vote for the other guy just because you think it'll benefit you. Dream away :-) .

Why do the Democrats insist on running against George W. Bush?

Iraq, Katrina, mortgage meltdown, erosion of liberties...

The concept of "compromise" has been getting weaker over the decades and under the Bush administration it pretty much died.  The GOP pushed for slamming legislation down the Dems' throats, and got it.  Now the entire GOP is at risk of being held accountable in the voters' minds for the Bush excesses.

If he goes you will find a reason to bitch about it, if he doesn't go, you will still find something to bitch about.

And when you think about it, who really cares? Will my world change at all, because your so concerned about the republicans.....no, didn't think so.

Oh and maybe all the threads wouldn't keep ending up in PORS if they were not so S.

I'm not sure, but hopefully after November they will calm down. Especially after they see the fine job McCain is doing as our new POTUS.

I wonder if this scenario has ever happened before in American politics?  The out-going President not attending the convention of his own party seems very irregular to me.

Has there ever been a hurricane about to hit the day of the convention? You would have to answer that first.

Personally, I would rather have him out doing something productive rather that up making speeches.

And that, Kitten, is the right wing philosophy in a nutashell. "I will vote for XYZ because I will benefit." Forget for the good of the country, forget morality, forget responsibility to society (which is the only way a society can function successfully, IMO); it's all about them. The soi-disant "Libertarians" are even worse.

We are talking about a President who went on vacation while Georgia was being invaded... so he's going to "miss" his own parties convention because of a storm? Well, maybe... of course, if I recall, during Katrina, he was having a state dinner.

No, I think the real reason he won't be "speechificatin'"  at "Fascist Fest" is because they, like 80% of all the American people, would be looking on him as a turd in the punchbowl.

For some, making money trumps everything, even immorality and wrong.

Bush`s grandfather had his business taken away, because he was doing business with the nazis.

The profits sure helped him sleep good at night,no doubt.

What do you call someone who wants war and death and destuction because they`re making money from it?

No no no no no...

We want him at the convo. We don`t want him to "help" or "out doing something productive" ,in any way.

America has gotten "helped"**, enough from that guy.

** fucked

I`m amazed that people still believe anything these guys say.
And I`m not easy to impress.

Kittin, the "dream" is that people vote based on anything BUT their self-interests. People act in accordance with their own perceived self interests; people who pretend otherwise are either misinformed or mistaken. The individual votes based on what is important to himself or herself. Some like to dress it up by claiming what they do is for the good of society, but that is disingenuous at best and deceitful at worst--dishonest no matter what.

....clearly that's the way you think. Fair enough. However, are you so arrogant that you can't concieve of a different mindset? One where altruism is seen as a virtue, as opposed to something that hinders profit?

Altruism does not exist. It's not virtue, but fiction.

People do what they do because it is what they want to do--because it is what they choose to do.

Dude, it's still a BDSM site.  You say begging like it's a bag thing.

Sorry, folks.  Saw it on the scroll and thought it was funny.
