Sheesh! I'm thankful when I get to be bound spread eagle. A position that exposes all your pink bits AND keeps your joints comfy for extended time periods....who wouldn't like it? Unfortunately it doesn't happen often as Sir tends to prefer positions that look more like a pretzel or a twister game gone wrong....but when I do get to get it...oh yeah, I love it!

I have to admit when I was vanilla it was allmost allways spread eagle however now days I dont care for having sex on a bed period. Beds are very limitited I think in the amount of area you have to mess around with.  I also dont care for the spread eagle position that much... not sure if I am bored with it or have just come up with more creative stuff....lol.  Simple access to those holes just dosnt really do it for me and loving bondage as much as I do my sub can expect the average scene to be 4-6 hours in length using a variety of positions. I am more of the elevated spreader bar type and I really hate it when I leave a hole unused.

I dont think I have actually had sex in a bed in about three or four years.

So you'd resist the tempations of seeing an 8 post bed staring you in the face?  Hell, I'd do it just it to add to my list of things I've done.  How many people can lay claim to using an 8 post bed for bondage, or had the pleasure of that experience? hahaha

A google search finds two types of Eight Poster Beds.

A.  Someone putting two 4 poster twin beds together

B.  A bed that for style reasons has two posts at each bed.

Type A looks to be slightly more interesting to me.  In effect, it has an extra tie down connection.

i love spread eagle with a blindfold...i lose so much time that way!!!! i was tried up that way i though it was about 45 min, in truth it was almost 2 1/2 hours!!!! oh how did i fly that day!

Personally, I'm with Erin. I love being spread eagle. Helpless, all my favorite bits are exposed for play... I don't see a lot to dislike about it.

A few reasons:
1. They're new and haven't taken Rope Bondage 101 yet.
2. It's the first and obvious position that comes to mind for a novice.
3. It's quick and easy.
4. They want certain parts accessible.
5. They like the view.

It seems to me there are simpler yet more interesting ties to be tried, even right off the bat.  Do ya'll tops remember in the very beginning a predilection for the spread eagle?  or a continued preference for it?  If so, why?

I dunno, I kind of like the spread eagle tie down, some of the more intricate ideas have a tendancy to cause my limbs to dislocate in a most mood killing fashion.

When my last Dom had me hog tied he had to check constantly that my hip and shoulder were not sliding out of position and actually had to untie be early because my right shoulder started to seperate. I mean it was a fairly easy fix and we moved on to something else but just because my body will bend into a pretzel doesn't mean it's a good idea lol
