They say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain,' but where's the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote -- who did not even leave the house on Election Day -- am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created." George Carlin

George Carlin was wrong.

If you don't vote, you forego the chance to vote against dishonesty and incompetence.

If you don't vote, you forego the chance to vote dishonesty and incompetence out of office.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." (derived from Edmund Burke)

If you vote you do your research on the candidate first.  Meaning do more than listen to a well rehearsed speech to draw you in.
You look at their past record and accomplishments.  You decide if you can at least see some of the same things eye to eye as them.
Then you vote for them...and can stand behind them if things get bad.

Remember the president of this country's only power is to take us to war.  Everything else has to have ok to do so.

Also remember, we don't vote our president in.  Our delegates for each state does that.  It does not matter if there is a landslide victory on one side of the popular vote and the delegates voted the other way.

Remember campaign promises are empty as they are said.  They need ok to implement them.  Take universal healthcare...many presidents have been pushing for it for many years.  Yet we don't have it yet.  Why do you think that is?

the President of the country can't do squat as long as the Special Interest Groups, The Senators & Congressmen keep fighting against him. so everything every President means nothing, the "promises" made are hollow and empty due to the rich always there to insure that they get richer and we get poorer. it will never change...just the names change every four years.

good question. the rich people already know who's gonna win. afterall, they bought the white house long ago. they wouldn't let just anybody in there. the only person going to get in there is the one that will do their bidding.

But we can bring the rich to thier knees, simply by tracing the paper trails and refusing to support thier capitalism.

The one word they fear the most is boycott.

Granted it is the internet but how many boycott gas e-mails has each one of us received?  How well did that fare out for us?
Strike at your work, there comes a time when you have to eat and pay your bills again.

It goes on and on.

as long as the rich have the power, the presidency is always up for sale. boycott or now, they still win, regardless of what the candidates promise. it's all lies.
