counting strokes, do you do it or not? who counts, the giver or the getter? like it? love it? hate it? Daddy tells me how many spanks I will get and then makes me count them. If I screw up, we go back to the beginning. I have been tempted to screw up on purpose, but i am a girl of integrity!

We haven't. Well, I say that, but he could well be counting without my knowing. I've never heard a number as a goal at least, he seems to go more for skin color and what it takes to make me move. [:D]

i would have thought more people did this. i love the challenge of counting. of hoping i'll have the fortitude to make it to the final number. of trying to keep my voice strong while squealing from the impact. couple it with the challenge of having to keep still and i am off in the higher reaches of heaven.

Lots of people want me to 'count' Personally, it drives me nuts, its' distracting as hell. It is a pretty common thing though.

For my 30th birthday I gave each of my girls 30 spankings. One would keep count in her head while the other was spanked. Of course, I kept count as well. You'd be amazed at how poorly they kept count! I guess watching the other squirm and cry on my lap was too distracting. Each time I'd ask how many were left and they gave me a wrong number, I added three extras. It was a fun night. [;)]

Having the sub count and listening to their voice is a good way for the top to get a hint about whether the sub has had enough - especially with someone fairly new to spanking. I had a sub who loved to be spanked, and he would proudly call out the numbers up to 40 and we would see how many times in a session he could count up to 40. After every 10 spanks he had to thank me or I would simply walk away leaving his butt stuck up in the air.

she counts....I keep mental track to catch her messing up. Also..I agree with the importance of using her vocal tones as one of the ways to measure of how she's doing without resorting to the amateurish "how are you" questions.

I tell my victim how many strokes of the cane he is going to get. Then I start counting. Then I deliberately lose track. So, he usually winds up getting around double. God, I love messing with their minds. And their bums. I like messing with their bums a lot, too.

Counting keeps the thinking part of my brain in charge and won't let the feeling part take over. Makes everything hurt more and I cannot take as much. I would hate to think someone I was with thought that was a good thing. Cali

I really hate having to count strokes! It forces me to concentrate on the number instead of the sensation....and it tends to piss me off....which i suppose amuses the Dominant....and i am certainly there to amuse.<smile> As far as counting correctly..hummmm....am i suppose to want the spanking finished or not? I'm never sure... <laugh>

I usually get subs to do the counting thing, when they start faltering it is an indication of the space they are in. In fact they have to count, thank Me and ask for the next one harder please! When they start leaving off the harder, it's a sign they are getting fairly well done, though I also keep a close watch and hands on their skin as well. Master used to have me count, till the day i got to 250 without missing a count and He gave up LOL! i was actually quite spaced, but i just had these giant numbers turning over in front of my eyes, i was totally focused through the numbers into a lovely space. It was fun! Thereafter Master just does as many as He wants without counting, unless it's Birthday spanks. Maam Jay aka violet[A]

Sir makes me count and thank him after every stroke, if i miss a number or forget to thank Him he keeps adding at the end....and keeping count is a B**** because i lose it after about ten... go figure...i have to use my fingers to help me keep track or i am at a complete lose!!!

Yes, although I don't make my boy do it every time we play, I do love having the strokes counted. It really all depends on my mood though - some days I need auditory stimuli. Other days, I prefer no talking - only the sound of impact, heavy breathing, and sighs. delicious When I do have him count, I say exactly how many will be given - after each stroke is counted out loud my boy thanks me after each one. ~xoxo

I don't like to or want to have to count. I concentrate more on the counting than I do on the sensations and feelings of the stroke whether it's from a hand, strap, paddle, cane, etc. The hurt and pain is different and I can't take as much when I have to keep count.

~FR~ We don't do the repetitive counting and thanking. We're both "Animal House" fans and the thoughts of "Thank you, Sir, may I have another" are therefore not hot but hilarious[8D]. It just doesn't work. Master doesn't know Himself how many strokes of the cane, belt, whathaveyou He's going to give me at any given time so I sure don't know ahead of time. He just does what He wants until He's finished. In the event that it's getting hard for me to take more and He sees I've about had all I can take, sometimes He'll say something like "Five more - count them" and I'll count down as He finishes. No need to thank between every one, though. He knows I'm appreciative for them[;)]..............luci

Hate it! He doesn't make me do it all the time... when He does, i know i'm going to be writhing and crying when He's done... and i have to count clearly - which can be hard when you're teeth are gritted so hard you think they might break...
