FirmhandKY -> 10 Questions Obama should ask Palin ... (8/30/2008 10:36:11 PM)

In the spirit of the Six things the Palin pick says about McCain thread, what does McCain's pick say about Obama?

Here are 10 questions that Obama should ask Palin:

With apologies to Rush ... [:D]

First question: Can you show me the proper and safe way to handle and fire a gun?  And are all NRA members as pretty as you are?

Second question, Is hunting scary?  And when you go fishing, do you bait your own hooks?  I mean you could cut your finger doing that.  Do you do it yourself?

Next question:  When you found out your baby would be born with Down syndrome, did you consider killing it before or after the due date?  You mean you had the baby?  You really had the baby?

Question number four:  What's it like to be a governor, Mrs. Palin?  Do you worry that you're going to be held responsible for your decisions?

Question number five:  Did you believe all that garbage that we've said about women at the Democrat convention?  Are you worried that breaking the glass ceiling will just make a big mess?

Question number six:  Is it fun or scary to ride a snowmobile?  Don't you get cold?

Question number seven:  Is it scary to live so close to the Russians?

Question number eight: Your son's in the army.  Did you teach him how to shoot guns?

Question number nine:  Since you're a former sports broadcaster, if I bet on a football game, can I call you for advice?

Question number ten: Come on, tell me the truth: Can we really drill for oil and not destroy the planet?  Algore says we're destroying the planet, but your husband works in that business.  Can we really drill for oil and not destroy the planet?

Deja Vu all over again.
"Can I ah, get me a huntin' liscense here?"

DomKen -> RE: 10 Questions Obama should ask Palin ... (8/30/2008 11:16:56 PM)

I think these are more appropriate.

1) What experience do you have traveling outside the US? What languages besides English do you speak?

2) Your husband works in an industry directly responsible for the permanent loss of a major industry in your state. Do you feel that industry owes those former business owners and workers any sort of restitution.

3) You support drilling in ANWR but have never pushed drilling in the NPR-A. Why not? Have you ever spoken to a campaign donor about this issue?

4) You oppose abortion all cases. If made illegal how would you punish women who have them?

5) You have spoken very publicly about your son enlisting in the military. Do you feel Senator McCain is in the wrong when he chooses not to use his son to get votes? Did you discuss his position with him?

6) As the person potentially a heartbeat away from the presidency do you feel that presidential candidates health status should be made available for public scrutiny?

7) You govern a state with a large budget surplus funded by the price of oil. What experience do you have with cost containment measures and if elected how would you assist Senator McCain in reducing spending by the federal government?

8) Alaska has what is effectively a windfall profits tax on the oil industry that operates in the state. Do you support or oppose a similiar tax on oil companies in the rest of the US?

9) As a reformer what do you think of a candidate with lobbyists in many prominent positions on his campaign staff?

10) Are you concerned that the Alaska state legislature's investigation into a accused ethics law violation may adversely affect Senator McCain's campaign? When did you first discuss the issue with the Senator?

Emmm,she`ll be debating Biden.

Besides, Obama might then have to treat her like an equal.

Sort of. Biden will be wearing kid gloves to avoid being seen as beating up a disabled person.

Here's one I'd like to see:
Why do you believe it is appropriate to teach your cultural belief about creation, in publicly funded schools, to the exclusion of all other cultural creation myths?

My admittedly small knowledge of her, stacked up against my greater knowledge of Biden says that she'll make mincemeat out of him in a debate.

I'm not as interested in the McCain/Obama debates, but am looking forward to the VP debate.

Firm regarding your 5th question,is it your opinion that being tapped for the V.P.slot by McCain breaks the glass ceiling?And if so, can we declare "Mission Accompished?

Slvemike, answering for myself I'd say yes.
And if McCain were to die in office then undoubtedly.
Also, if elected, Obama could die in office too, it's not out of the range of possibility.
Then we'd have "Jumpin' Joe" as president.
I don't know why the Democrats are so afraid of having a woman as president or vice president.
They didn't want Hillary and now they don't want Palin.
And they try to call themselves "progressive?"

Dems aren't afraid of having a woman Prez. Hillary got outvoted, is all. I would have voted for her had she won the nomination, despite the fact that she's a right-winger.

Palin's apparently made some questionable decisions which make me question her judgment, particularly her attempted use of eminent domain to try and steal some land for a white elephant indoor ice arena. (like there isn't any other land in Alaska.) She's also a fundie Xtianist Dominionist who is anti-science and anti-choice. That alone makes her unsuitable for the VP slot.

There's a "mission" to put a woman in the Oval Office?

slvemike4u -> RE: 10 Questions Obama should ask Palin ... (8/31/2008 12:45:30 PM)

CL please see firm's 5th question....and refer all future Mission accomplished questions to him.

I don't see where Firm's questions mentioned a "mission" to put a woman in the Oval Office.

So the Mission Accomplished questions remain with you--and unanswered.

slvemike4u -> RE: 10 Questions Obama should ask Palin ... (8/31/2008 1:00:12 PM)

Oh come now CL you understood it was tongue in cheek and a reference to a previous declaration of "Mission Accomplished"...if the referenc was to oblique,I will try to be more obvious in the future!!!!

I get the reference.  I do not get the relevance.

Well one thing the Republicans can't accuse the Democrats of any more, inexperience. If McCain wins there is a big chance he will die in office and then the control of nuclear weapons is down to a gun toting, bible thumping, beauty queen moralist with less foreign policy experience than Bush! Eek!

Oh well, the world was nice while it was here.

You'd think that.  Then the Democrats drag it back onto the table, ignoring the fact that Palin's resume is deeper than Obama's.

Its been the Republicans banging on about inexperience but its the moralist in her that is the most worrying, moralists tend to see the world in black and white and have fixed views, they tend not to learn from experience even when they have some.

night night world.
