califsue -> Installing a Husband (8/31/2008 1:44:22 AM)

        Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and
jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable
programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the
system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

       What can I do?

       Signed, Desperate

       Dear Desperate:

First, keep in mind Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband
1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved
Me.exe' and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget toinstall the Guilt  3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically
run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to
default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0, or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a
very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the
background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are
unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited
memory and not learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying
additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0
       and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

       Good Luck, Tech Support

Have you heard of the package
Shake the Sugar Tree 5.0 ?
It usually reactivates the romance software.

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Installing a Husband (9/2/2008 2:25:46 PM)

if all else fails install "Divorce threat 2.8" the desired effect should make the Boyfriend applications kick back in for a while.

This could be seen as trying to reverse engineer the program, and would probably void the end user license agreement.

Orrrr, it could lead to, Boyfriend 6.0 and Increased Bank Account 10.0

Dear Desperate,

I've upgraded your problem ticket, sent it to the admins, and their response was "why did you try to fix something that wasn't broken?"  If you look at the list of available features in Husband 1.0 and Boyfriend 0.5 you can clearly see that Boyfriend 0.5 has a more complete feature set.  Granted, Boyfriend 0.5 requires more work on your part to keep it doing what you want but on the whole it has a more friendly, intuitive interface.  Husband was written back in the days when Bill Gates said that no one would need more than 640k of RAM and it's design has been crippled ever since.  (Note the total lack of documentation!)

Unfortunately due to license restrictions you cannot downgrade from Husband back to Boyfriend.  Your only viable option is to get another copy of Boyfriend.  Whether you choose to keep Husband at that point is up to you.  Be aware that trying to keep the two from stepping into each other's address space, corrupting memory, and causing a crash is a very delicate balancing act.  Some have had success with the unsupported "Cuck 0.1.d" patch.  We at tech support cannot recommend it at this time as it violates the TOS.

Sincerely,
Tech Support.
