bichick4third -> How to get started with Electro Play (8/31/2008 3:34:29 PM)

Hi,

I am a sub, master and I are interested in trying electro play, and he told me to research a little. Does anyone have any advice how to start playing safely? Any tips? Experiences?

Hi bichick4third,
The advise I can offer you is that make sure "before" you buy any basic equipment, that you find out what accessories that can work with them.  There's nothing like investing in a basic set up, only to find out that there are no additional accessories that will work with what you already have. Unless you buy this adapter kit, this wiring set up.. blah blah blah etc.   It's well worth the additional monies to invest into a basic set up, that has versitility, and really neat, interesting and excititing accessories to just buy and plug in.    Not to mention that you can buy a gift for your Master/Sir as a surprise and be certain that its going to fit the moment you want to play.

As for safety tips, I would suggest, if you know someone that has a set up.. maybe they can let you test their unit out on your hand... that way you can see if its something you really want to move forward with... Then when you get your own be sure to test out the equipment on non sensitive parts first and start out on low voltage working your way up.  My Sir, was testing it out on his hand first to see what kind of maeheim he was going to be tormenting me with.. giggling...   And if you are one to be gushing all types of fluids, make sure to keep things clear and on higher ground. giggling giggling....   Always remove the batteries when not in use and make sure its dry before storing it away. Basic things like that.  I hope this helped you some.

Enjoy it.. I do

Go to a con or a fair where you can hold the violet wand to your skin and see if you can tolerate it. If you can't, then that's a lot of money down the drain.

Cheaper, but nasty, is an electric fly swatter.

However be prepared to not be able to tolerate electric play. Some people just can't.

I have been around 220 3 phase and single phase as well as 110 and items run by a battery.  A car battery can hurt you more than can 220 volts with low amp fuses in line to lower the current you receive.  I mention all this just to let you know that it is not the number of volts in the current that can hurt you.  Otherwise, I agree with your prior responses, try it first and see how it affects you.  I would suggest that naturally you stay away from your heart during play however.

One thing I've learned is sticking your finger in a light socket isn't a bright idea

Hold it.

Go google Uncle Abdul for all things electrical, it is kinda a techno-kink.... there be monsters in there, laddie buck!!!!

Read, Read. Read--- you should be able to absorb the gross anatomyof Abduls shit in a couple days, then come back here, and you will know what you want to know, open up the thread again.

I think you should start off with three simple toys.

1. TENS Unit: http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=Cheap+TENS+Unit&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title

2. Somthing known as the Bug Zapper: http://www.amazon.com/iTouchless-3-Layer-Portable-Electric-Mosquito/dp/B000EJVYUC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1220239170&sr=8-6

3. Shock Wand: http://home.earthlink.net/~violetwanda/electro.html

Keep googleing items to find the cheapest prices. You can find some TENS Units under $20.00. Most medical supply stores will sell them right around $50 for the basics.

While I agree that it is current more often than voltage that kills... would you please explain to me how a 12 volt DC car battery is able to generate sufficient current to do harm across the average person's body resistance?

If i were you i would go straight for a tens unit.  much cheaper than an ems unit.  i would stay away from bug zappers as they are designed to kill insects, you have no control over the power of the 'zap' and it will jus thurt, and probably not a good hurt either.

You want a two channel tens unit, that has a number of programmes and allows you to alter the power of each programme.

What i would then suggest you do is each have a bit of a play by yourselves.  that way you will be able to go as fast or slow as you want and experiment with all the settings and feel them for yourselves.  maybe just using the sticky pads that come with most tens units to start with, and then experiementing with other electrodes (professional and home made).

after a couple of plays by yourselves, then get together and have a session together.  to learn what the other person likes.  experiement with lots of different electrode placings as a small movement can really change the feel of them

dont cross the current across your chest.  by that i mean if you want to try it on your nipples, then put the puds very close to either side of one nipple, NOT one on each side of your chest.

electro is a lot of fun, you wont look back.

ADom442 -> RE: How to get started with Electro Play (9/1/2008 2:22:38 PM)

I doubt you and your master would ever consider this, but one piece of advice I'd give is don't try experimenting with anything that's not sold as a toy or that others in the community don't use for play.

I remember reading about a couple in (I believe) England who'd use a power strip and jolt the wife with current out of the wall socket. They played that game for years and had a lot of fun until one day when he killed her.

The commercially sold devices are pretty safe. Think about it; the company wouldn't stay in business if they were killing their customers.

Not sure where you are but here in Australia you can hire Tens units, thats how Sir and I are going to start out. We have been tossing around the idea of electrical play for a while now
