I am running off to work now, going to take the bike even tho it's a bit cooler today than it has been the past week, when the thought occurred to me, that a bike is almost a metaphor for the perfect submissive. Notwithstanding the standard biker's moniker for an automobile driver is "cager", the bike seems, to me, to embody much of what I would consider "the perfect submissive".

She's was chosen for her complex nature. Certainly, she's well built, with sensuous lines that make you want to run your hands across every curve, and she's to be doted upon in the garage (metaphor for bedroom), but ... since she was chosen for how she can perform upon my command, she is certain to be used hard, and fast on the road (i.e., in BDSM life is where I'm taking this) ... particularly on the twisties ... as vanilla straights and common freeways don't provide the scene for what we do best together.

What I love most about a street bike is that it does exactly what I tell it to do, whether it be going +120 mph or braking & shifting hard in a decreasing radius curve, perhaps kicking in the ABS safe word, to show me I took her a bit past the edge, but, not to worry, we're still partners, we're still both in control of our emotions, even as we pull back on the reins, just a bit, to stay in that sweet spot of control. She maintains contact with the road, I maintain contact with her with all my body, my legs straddling her akimbo, my hands controlling the input to her very nerves.

All during the ride, she and I are one, to be treasured, to be pampered, yet to be commanded and she to obey, we as a team, in order to accomplish what we're built for ... what we live for.

She is garaged as I go on a trip,  but she is always waiting for me. She is sad when I have to take the cage, but I always yearn for her. And, I dream of taking her through the next set of twisties, straddling her ever so intimately, and commanding her to follow my every whim, for I am the Master and she the power that allows me to be so.

Q: Is it just me, or do others feel a similar kinship?

Absolutely... mine is a '72 sportie. And some of them can even be considered "do-me" subbies!!!

I wonder what percentage of the Harley 105th crowd were D/s couples or into some form of kink or BDSM.

Ours is a triad, His "Other Bitch" and me serve Him but I also serve Her, and would have it no other way.

Ya think? Hmmm....chains, leather, power, lubes, loud noises and serious adrenalin rushes, etc., etc. I've always said that most bikers are into BDSM but just don't know it. Often you will hear "You mean there's a word for that".....lol?

Wow your right. Bikes and subs. I do see a correlation for me.
I have no idea how to ride either one!

LMAO.......ah, yes, the Harley must be properly served. Glad to see i am not the only "old school" type around here. You know, from the time when it was a privilege to wash the old man's bike. When the bike was a reflection of just how good an old lady you were. I always feel a great deal of pride and happiness when she is all polished, chrome flashing, paint gleaming, and i know i did that.

It seems natural, but I'm on a half-dozen motorcycle-related boards, and in my experience there the numbers don't seem to be any greater. It could be that it's mostly a Harley/Biker(tm) thing, as I don't hang out in those circles.

It's funny that GT mentioned switching- I've never considered myself to be anything other than submissive, but riding brings me a real enjoyment of being in control. I'm a fairly big guy who tends to ride lightweight bikes, and the way they respond immediately to every input is tremendously satisfying.

But then again, I think that both BDSM and riding provide the opportunity for greater sensory input than the "average" person gets to experience, so the potential for a connection is certainly there.

With me it's not just a bike .... it's a Harley, and you can modify it in many ways.
I do understand the Dom/sub relationship with the bike, for I have formed it into what I want - as one will shape his sub. Add some chrome here (wear lace topped stockings); put louder pipes on it (tighten the clover clamps); pullback handle bars (braid the hair in pig tails to grab and pull on); install a more comfortable seat for the long haul (tie the legs apart); etc. etc.

And yes some of us at the 105th are into BDSM.

i'm a sub and i love being on my bike... hell, i'll still be on it when the frost hits. Although, i don't think i'll be making the trek to work... going 35 miles (for the new job) is WAY colder than going 10 miles (for the old job)! lol

Heh...remember the video for John Mellencamp's, "Hurt So Good" with all the bikers and the woman in chaps dancing on the bar?

I ride a 2002 Electraglide Ultra Classic and I love it. I tow a cycle pop up camper. I go to a few big bike shows a year. My lady Slave Sherry loves to ride on the back. We are going cycle camping at Assataeague Island next week to attend Delmarva bike week in Ocean City Maryland. Here is a few picture links, I know some people on CM are tired of seeing the cycle camper, lol.

Got to love women in chaps. Similar to stockings and a garter belt, nothing beats framing in the interesting parts...lol.
