Celeres -> RE: A thought about Experience and The Presidency... (9/2/2008 9:22:44 PM)

I actually didn't know that, FatDomDaddy. I think it was completely hypocritical of McCain to launch attack ads testifying to Obama's inexperience during the DNC, and then choose Gov. Palin the day after the DNC. Also, at 43 years of age, President John F. Kennedy was sworn into office. After Robert McNamera turned down President Kennedy's offer to the Secretary of Defense, Kennedy replied: "Look, Bob, I don't think there's any school for Presidents either." Where does one "really" get experience from anyway, as evidenced by JFK, Lincoln and Roosevelt? As for Fred Thompson, it seems as if he was nursing a cold or something? He was clearing his throat quite a bit... and I agree that his speech could have been better, but I was nevertheless "moved" by his speech, unlike some others I've heard this past week.
