Thanks, Onemore. We didn't actually see the spark jump (we were busy), but my boy could feel it and begged me to turn it off. He's never done that. Considering the fact that we are both very new to electrical play, we are both a touch ignorant about 'care and feeding' of the unit. In such times of need, I have found that Irishm57 is an amazing 'go to guy' on this subject. He has been a touch busy for the boards lately, but I sent him a private Cmail and got this response. As it is not personal and may be useful to others, I'll C&P it here and ask for forgiveness later... maybe. quote:
Shorting the outputs(directly) of any tens unit will eventually damage the unit. Even though they do design them to take some shorts, the direct short will damage it depending on how high the output control is set. When it shorts, the current flow is max, so it tends to heat up the output transistors. If it was only the fluids making the short (not the 2 metal parts touching), that shouldn't be a problem since there is enough resistance in fluids to keep the current flow under control. The general opinion seems to be 'just don't do that to much'. Considering that my boy didn't enjoy that sensation, especially in that super sensitive moment after a climax, I don't think we will be using it much under these conditions. I just want to make sure we don't break our favorite toy as I think my boy is becoming addicted to it... and I do love to watch his eyes pop and hear the screams. So very hot.
