You hide only (not block) a profile that is always in your match list.... because you are tired of seeing them online every time you log on...or you might hide them just because their photo or something in their profile really bugs you?  [image]http://www.collarchat.com/upfiles/smiley/stickineye.gif[/image]

Haven't done it here yet but I DO have two messengers and usually have more then a few folks on them blocked for one reason or another. Sometimes I even sign in as invisible just because i don't feel like talking to anyone.

I do that all the time....I used to be so into online messengers and chatting and now i get bored so easily i can only handle a short conversation...so i agree with you on that point!

I do it a bit different on the messenger. I have one group of a very very select few that I am always visible to. I love yahoo's group stealth feature.
The rest are on perm invisible. This way I can be selective, and still stalk (watch) others coming and goings.
It makes it easier to remember to be visible to that one group instead of going all invisible.

There is a hiding feature? Other than block? Whooot gonna start using it.

omigod yes!!  the hide list is nearly as long as the visible list now...lol  sometimes i switch them around for a change of pace...most of them i don't even remember why i hid them in the first place....i don't recommend getting this old...

I've hidden everyone on the site, so now I'm actually the only one browsing online....ever... [;)]

So seriously, I actually only hide the local profiles that feel just aren't a match for me, or that I find offensive in some way and just don't want to be reminded.

Hiding profiles definitely cuts down on the DejaVu feeling you get from reading through local profiles over and over and realizing you already ruled them out for some reason or another.

I've done that 'cause of a guy having a mustache in his photo and he was always on. Everytime I logged in, I was like
'surely it's not real. But why would anyone wear such a strange looking mustache for his photo? Maybe a bet....? Maybe it is real? Can't...look...away' 

Had to hide him, he was taking up far too much thinking.

No seriously. There's a match list?

I wonder if I don't see it because I use Firefox as my browser. CM isn't Firefox friendly. There are a few different features that seem to not show up with this browser. *sigh*

Yes, I did that with my ex sub's profile when he was active online here.  The last thing I wanted was to see that insincere sneer, especially when I logged on first thing in the morning.  No need to block, as there was no danger of him messaging me or vice versa.
 
Now I do it with some subs who show up in my search that I know aren't really matches, though I don't have anything against them and don't have them blocked.
 
Then there is the group that is both blocked and hidden...

Yes!  Some of the profiles, whether a picture or something in the profile, just IRK me to death and I can't stand looking at them anymore.  So... they get hidden in a far, far away place...  [;)]
