skittles,

this happened this past week to a dear friend of mine. unfortunately - it is not the first time.

until you have met - in real life - be very cautious about how much "trust" you hand over to a potential person. they - the players - know the game quite well. they seduce you with their words, they ask you to trust them - they convince you, in order to "belong to them" you must surrendor this trust. all of this - before ever meeting in real life.

the sad part - is that many submissives give this trust way too easily, then they get hurt and a vicious cycle starts - because the next Dom they share their hurt and dismay with - will ask for the same thing.

"Trust me..." "Don't you trust me..." etc.

my suggestion - hold onto the trust until you have met your potential partner and have shared the same oxygen, within the same room.

lol....it doesn't just happen in cyberspce.

dated someone 6 months. saw each other once or twice every 2 weeks for 6 months....went to his place, he came to mine..spent the night...then one day i saw him, and never heard from him again. i remember it actually, jan 5th i believe was the last time i spoke to him. i got a "talk to you later" as i left for work and then nothing.

I have a few suspisions, but i'll never really know what happened unless i put some serious effort into it, which, as much as i like(d) him, and still think about him every few days and wonder what happened, or something reminds me of him...i just won't do. if he can leave things like that, there must be a reason for that and i won't over step my bounds as a sub and for other reasons to find out.

how did i get over it? several steps....anger, indignation, curiosity and acceptence. it's just the way it is, and move on.

Yes. Let us all take pause and remember that it isn't *real* until you can reach out and touch...or spank. Yes, you can connect, and bond, and all of that good stuff, but it still isn't quite *real*.

I had a "master" I was speaking with fairly seriously online-(had yet to meet in RL) who vanished but then showed up two weeks later saying his computer had crashed, etc... but then disappeared again- I'll be amused to hear what his excuse is if he ever shows up again this time, but yep, he pretty much disqualified himself, better to know now before wasting any more time on weeding him out...

Yeah, when they frequently disappear in the middle of online chats, with the excuse that their computer crashed, again and again, or the power went out....again....I raise an eyebrow. Sure, that happens sometimes, but too many times is too much of a coincidence in this day and age of DSL lines and cable modems. Even the dial-up systems are better than they used to be. If he's using that excuse again and again, he better darn well be claiming to live in East Bufu somewhere. Too many sudden disappearances start my "Married" red flags a-wavin'. Wifey walked into the room, hadta go!
