I don't kill anything that does not need to be killed, when I go fishing, I eat what I catch and as soon as the fish is landed, I  iki jimi it before even thinking to extract the lure. This is for two reasons, the first being why increase suffering and the second being the chemicals that course around a fishe's body whilst in shock, dying etc, taint the meat.

Lol, Toppy. No, snails themselves aren't koshkosh. Neither are reptiles, and other invertebrates and amphibians. But I disgress.

i called my friend long distance and she needs more information...what size are the snails? Are they "itty bitty snails"? or are they "big ole snails" (shes from Nebraska).? If the shells are bigger than a nickel, they qualify as "big ole" and if they are bigger than a quarter in size you "probley" oughta leave the house immediatly. Take only the clothes on your back.

Seriously, do you have algae or moss growing on your flats outside surface? They are attracted by something...altho im sure youre just delicious, its more than likely not you.

Do you have Hastas in your yard? or under the windows in questions?

i cant list off all her questions anymore, my hands are cramping and shes too lazy to sign on....

Have you named any of them yet??

Whats the lifespan of a snail anyway??

im never going to get to work today....sigh.

peace and pleather

Absolutely not, but if I choose to ingest a few pounds of lobster, who's to know [8D] ?

GreedyTop -> RE: Snails (9/5/2008 8:29:06 AM)

Nothing under the window except a free fall of about four feet, the same as the other flats, mould and algae, there is some, but so has the other flats and we suffer a sea wind where we are on top of the hill. Size of the creatures, well there are some small ones , about half inch across, but there are others about twice the size. I once knew someone on CM who used to paint the snail shells in rainbow colours, with nail varnish.

You could always paint their names on their shells.

Since living in Nebraska...I haven't seen a snail in two years.  Odd, they must not be able to make it through the winters here?
None of those rolly poly bugs either.  I don't know their names..but its what we called them as kids.

Yes, that would go down well in my neighbourhood, I am already getting the eyeball because of a badger, a vixen and a female squirrel coming to be fed. I have already got the neighbour's cats trained. Mind on the other hand, perhaps a bit of airbrush art on the shells.

Rolly polly bugs, wouldn,t be June bugs would they , a type of cock chafer, (no, not a wanker )? If so, May bugs they are called here and one of those electric tennis raquet fly exterminators you all use is great for sending the little buggers flaming into the bushes. My respect for creatures stops when they land in my hair and when I try to remove them, they bite me.
