I have taken classes in various forms of dance; jazz, ballet and modern.  As a drummer I have sat in with belly dancing troupes. I love going out to a fun club or to catch a live band and making moves on the dance floor.  I want to learn ballroom and salsa and swing dancing.  Those are on the agenda for several months from now.

I love to throw a few shapes and do so frequently.  Never thought to learn a dance and doubt I'll bother but it would be something difficult, like the tango, if I ever did - not morris dancing.

Try hitting people instead they are softer.

I'm studying Capoeira, but so far I suck at it.

This girl's ex husband studied Capoeira- it's very cool looking and very hard! Stick with it and good luck!

Professional ballet here. But don't ask me to do anything unchoreographed and unrehearsed, lol, that sends most ballerinas into panic! As long as there are specific steps then it's all good! Just no improv on a dance floor <shudders>!

Also have done vintage dance- Civil War era, Baroque, Renaissance and enjoy ballroom too. Would enjoy taking a classical Indian dance class and maybe belly dance. Have done African and Jazz out of necessity, but this girl moves just too European to be any good at that- though it is fun! Modern dance is kind of fun too.

I should warn you I've been working out. Thus far I've worked out to run is far better than to stay.

My mom had a Shirley Temple fetish, so I was in tap shoes pretty young.  Still have a pair that fits.

Oh I still love Shirley Temple movies and yup I took tap dancing as a child but... I was awful and cried every single time.
As an adult I won't dance in front of others but I do at home and in my yard, I love doing that.

It's actually come in handy....I've done some musical theatre where there was tap dancing featured, so I didn't have to take the crash course, lol

Yours too eh?

Mine was obbsessed with Shirley Temple.. LOL We had all of the albums ( on record then) She made sure I took voice, and dance lessons. We lived in Chicago so she was a stage mom... I got trotted out to all the major productions to audition. I was in quite a few of them. Some kids hated it.. but I *loved* it. I was/am such a Ham.

Later on in school I took Jazz Dance, and then Ballroom/Salsa. I would do showcases with Arthur Murrays. I had a scholorship on dance and theater.. but I screwed up my knees so bad I landed in a wheel chair for months. I gave up on that dream.

When I got a bit older I began teaching erotic dance and how to act like a lady in the Gentlemans clubs around Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater areas. I never danced on stage except when they were closed to the public. Or when a dancer friend whom I trained would beg nicely enough for me to dance Kitty Kitty with her. *chuckles* I do miss the cash and fun from those gigs. Dancers pay well for training.

Now I just shake my booty at home while cleaning. Sad. LOL
