Status: offline 		I would like to know if any Domms send there slave/ subs to bed early so that they are rested for a busy day that is planned for them the next day. my Mistress sends me to bed at 9 pm and i must be up buy 6 am. She has me wear a diaper during the night so i won't wake her going to the rest room. Is this something that is common for a Domm to do?

Status: offline 		I have a Dom, not a Domme, but yes, he normally puts me to bed an hour or so before he goes to bed.  I typically need more sleep than he does, and it gives him alone time.  Everybody needs a little alone time, right?

I'm not in 24/7 but of couples that I know who are, that seems to be fairly common, the dom/me putting the sub to bed a while before themselves for alone time, etc.

Status: offline 		I don't have an ironclad bed time, but my Owner will ensure that I don't stay up too late.  If she tells me I need to go to bed, then odds are I've accidentally stayed up too late.

Status: offline 		I make sure my boy has adequate rest the week before he visits so he'll be 'rested up'.   After a long weekend at a convention, I wouldn't let him drive home.  I made him go to sleep on my couch even though he kept complaining that he was NOT tired.  The next day, after he got home, he crashed and almost fell asleep at his desk.  I'm the experienced one.  I know that a person can ride the 'high' of a con for longer than they think.  The exhaustion sets in as soon as the adrenaline wears off.  I would much rather have a fussy puppy on my couch safe and sound than falling asleep at the wheel and ending up in a ditch or wrapped around a telephone pole!

Status: offline 		My answer is actually split.  Sometimes, it will depend (that's not a diaper pun) on the sub.  For example, clip is an absolute morning person.  If he doesn't go to bed by a certain hour, he's cranky.  One of the first things I did in our dynamic was to establish an evening ritual and a bedtime.  The bedtime was rather early, but he was allowed to request if he could go to bed later on occasion.  If he'd had a nap during the day, or was going to be sleeping in a bit the next day, I was more inclined to give him permission.

Other subs are more night people.  I don't especially set a bedtime in those cases.  There might be instances where I'll know he has school or work the next morning, and I'll tell him that it's time My boy went to bed.  I haven't been very strict on it, though.  I love those late night opportunities.

Status: offline 		yes, except for the weekends, my beloved hubbypet is not allowed up past 10 pm. He works long hours, and his rest is important, to me and my sanity( he gets grumpy when he is tired)

Status: offline 		Master recognises i am a night person, so doesn't set bedtime and doesn't even expect me to come to bed with Him every night as He frequently gets tired much earlier than i do. He knows that if i am tossing and turning wakefully ... He won't get His best rest. On occasion i get on a roll with some creative work and work all night! However, He does have the rule that my night wakefulness does NOT excuse me from my morning jobs for Him ... so getting up early to make His breakfast is still necessary. i am also not to be grumpy from lack of sleep while doing so! However, once those tasks are done, i can go to bed and sleep if i need to. He is really very understanding and i realise how lucky i am ... and thank Him regularly!

I have some of my own issues surrounding sleep.  Because of this I was recently talking with my Dr. about how to regulate my own sleep patterns.

It seems that creating a sleep pattern is not about what time a person goes to bed but about what time they get up.  I was advised to not force myself to go to sleep before I was tired but rather to get up at a consistent time every day.  If this means that I only get 5 hrs of sleep during the night because I watched a late movie, was out to late, or just couldn't sleep, being tired for a day would be more effective than trying to force myself to sleep when I wasn't tired.

For this reason, and because I currently don't have a slave - lol, I would not impose a bedtime on a slave.  I would, however, impose a wake up time.  If said slave made poor choices around when to go to bed ... well, then I guess he would pay for it the next day by being tired and my not caring if he was - lol.
