Yes and you can tell that the man is trying to undress the female with his eyes.  He is clearly pre-occupied and focused on her bustline, and couldn't give a fuck less about that wedge of cantelope or the folded paper that's cast to the side of the table.  She on the other hand, is in a classic defense position with her arms crossed over her chest.  Interesting to note that his right hand appears to be on his cock and it looks like he's going to attempt to fondle himself unnoticed.

Wow.  Can you spell "defensive"?

Of course it's manipulative advertising--and there's a reason why manipulative advertising works.  That image depicts the kind of couple that the Lancaster County Tourist Board wants to attract: the kind where the woman doesn't have to read the morning newspaper.  If you don't want to fall into that trap yourself, don't look for a Knight in Shining Armor who is sensitive but strict and in command and communicates well and is a great lover but not obsessed with sex and respects you but knows when to put you in your place and and and...

For one. This was not intended as a womans thread. The question is "How has what you seek changed"? As far as the truth of your picture of women focused solely on men then why do hear so many men complain that after the kids came she didnt pay enough attention to him anymore? I know women with countless interests and hobbies. perhaps this is manipulative advertising page catering to a man who will be paying the bill wanting his inattentive wife to have all her attention on him for the romantic weekend and not everything else she worries about?

Why wouldnt I want that? I have that right now. me defensive? Way to project your own defensiveness dude! Your the one who posted with issues, not me.

Not all of us have unrealistic expectations and expect our partner to possess several diametrically opposed traits all at once.

He's fairly sensitive, not strict (thanks be), usually a good communicator, a great lover, obsessed with sex, and can usually rein me in if I need it. And I like to believe that he respects me not because it's a trait of his, but because I've earned it. As has he.

Oh yeah, one other trait. He's been through therapy and sees the value in it. I won't even talk to people who think "anybody who goes to therapy must be crazy".

About the picture, my main interest was that those are large mugs. Lately I've been in places that give you a four ounce cup and never come back to see if you need a refill.

So why is that?  Why do women always seem to say they want men who are EVERYTHING and men, well, men just sorta want a woman who pleases them in specific ways?

Because women have higher standards?  [8D]

I always figured women wanted it all and men just wanted a chick with big tits.

More seriously, yes, what I "look for" (even though I am not actually looking for anyone/anything) has changed.  In fact, I just want to be with someone with whom I won't have to compromise myself.  I don't want to be the center of someone else's world, but I do want him to include me in it and I want to be an important part of it.  I want to thrive, and I won't thrive if I pretend to be something I'm not (hence, compromise who I am).

I think when people are asked such questions, they begin listing all the things that they remember didn't work the last time(s), and that's why the lists grow so long.

*Nods*...and the cup handle is so tiny and dainty you are afraid to use it...so you burn your hand by holding the hot cup.
