And pollsters say the bounce isnt over yet until Tuesday or Wednesday. So likely McCain will hit 50%. What's interesting is the Rasmussen poll shows people have a more favorable opinion of BOTH Palin and McCain than Obama. 58% of voters says they have a favorable opinion of both McCain and Palin. While 56% have a favorable opinion of Obama. Biden is the least liked and has a 48% favorability. Polls also show he is losing religious people, especially catholics, in droves. I wonder if the Palin pick may have pulled a bunch of those away from him. Also Nancy Pelosi's comments about abortion and the church may have spooked some voters. Pelosi is a catholic, and she was asked about her ideas on abortion, and she made a claim that the church has gone back and forth on the issue and there is no consensus within the catholic church. And after that comment the church just came right down on top of her and put out all sorts of statements that she is incorrect and that the church has always maintained a stance against abortion. blah, blah blah... And that may have hurt Obama somewhat with moderate-religious voters. She could have just said, "That is one thing I disagree with my church with..." and left it at that...simple. Biden may have been a mistake. He brings some foreign policy experience to the ticket....but other than that....nothing. And what would have really been a sure win....a Hillary/Obama ticket with Hillary on top. It would have been a landslide. But the far-left and the George Soros types didnt think Hillary was far enough to the left. After all, she supported the Iraq war. So they knocked her off and put this unknown on the top of the ticket with no experience and a bunch of friends who either preach hatred in church (Wright, Pflager) or end up in jail (Rezko, Kilpatrick). THAT is why the Dems are losing now. Sarah Palin on the other hand may have been a hail mary thrown by John McCain, but Palin caught the pass in the end zone. The difference in excitement of the Republican party between 2 weeks ago and today is enormous. That party is now excited, united, and they fully believe they can win. And that has blindsided the Democrats. They have yet to recover from it. And now that excitement is starting to show in the polls.
