I do think you owe your top the consideration of a phone call thanking him for fulfilling your fantasy experience and assuring him that he didn't do anything wrong. And yes, going at a speed you consider appropriate is one of the dominant's major responsibilities imo. You can always do it later, you can't ever undo it.
