A box of rubber ducks - about 30 of them.
Several dozen packets of steak seasoning.
Smiley-face pen.
Celebrity perfume samples.
Tickets to see The English Beat (Dave Wakeling is now a chubby football-dad but I still have a crush on him.)
A cup of soda.

Really, who would think to give a person a box of ducks?

Sounds like the week from heaven to me!  I love getting absurd things like those... aside from tickets to E.B., that's not absurd, that's just plain awesome!  >.>  Got a spare? 

EDIT:  Oh, hehe, oddball stuff I got.  Syphilis!  Seriously!  A friend of mine gave me a plushie syphilis microbe!  It's awesome! ( http://www.giantmicrobes.com )

Uhh, A box of Vanilla Wafers, a couple weeks back.  That was pretty damn cool.  A laser pointer, uhm...  OH!  Transformers toys for christmas a couple years back!  That kicked ass. 

I'm required to have birthdays, there is no law or rule that states I have to get 'old'.

Status: offline 		I got a good friend who ALWAYS gives me these beautiful sparkly blouses to go salsa dancing in... She gets them for me and gives them to me for my b{day, xmas, whatever..... see the thing is... she and I are about the same size on the bottom.  But on top ummmmm she{s a B cup and I{m a shhhhhhhhhhhh DDD... yeah... she has lots of beautiful sparkly blouses to go salsa dancing in and I got... ummm ... yeah I have .... ummmm... sigh.

Status: offline 		When "the boy's" mother died his sister collected all the loud floral polyester shirts she wore - her daily uniform, and she made several small lap-sized quilts with them so his young sister and nieces could have something very tactile to remember Grandma by.  Emilee was just a toddler but she still remembered how it felt to be hugged by Grandma and feel Grandma's shirts.  Now THAT was a neat gift.

Status: offline 		That is pretty cool.  My partner's mom saved all of his t-shirts from the plays he did in high school and everything, and put them together as a big, soft quilt for him as well as his graduation t-shirt, with the names off all of the graduates.  One of the best gifts I've ever seen.

i think this is quite a normal gift...my niece used to collect frogs, so all year long i would find frog things, really tacky frog things, really different & oddball frog things & then put them all in a box for Christmas...finally one year she told me she had enough...i don't know what to do with all my free time now...*sigh*

Status: offline 		No Aylee....We are sorry to inform You that all the quack quack ducks have been killed..They were destroyed in the quack quack fire of  '03.  Now  all we have are moo moo ducks or baa baa ducks..

i just mailed someone some dried peas covered in wasbi with a lil warning to eat only one the first time.

A shovel - i needed one

An african grey parrot - he was tired of it. I still have her 3 years later.

A sewing dummy - i really wanted it!

A wood carving kit - it played heck with my carpal tunnel, so i have had to cut (no pun intended) back on the wood work.
