Congressional hearing, over 1 billion to Georgia.   [Ron Paul asking Q s]

A military ship is not 'confrontational".

black is white, white is black- up is down and left is right and right left.

How could we not? They remind us of their existence every single day  .

Yes, a military ship is confrontational, the US is making a point of flying the flag in the Russian sphere of influence. Just consider the boot being on the other foot. I like the candor of Ron Paul who said, everybody knows this is about the American Empire.

Certainly my American friends here in Amsterdam constantly groan about American foreign policy in the region and constantly complain about the lack of diplomatic skills of this administration and its negative impact on the image of America.

An interesting choice of pronouns.

Ron Paul was off the mark on this one, though.  Russia was and is the aggressor nation.  That oil pipeline is definitely a reason to send aid to Georgia.  To suggest that Putin does not want to control that pipeline and, as a result, have increased influence over world energy prices, is simply naive.

Thanks for the reminder of just how wrong Ron Paul was in his assessment of the surge.  You can add Pelosi and Reid to compelte the team.

Obviously, this war is not "endless" as Ron Paul suggested, or lost. (See url in his own words of surrender and defeat.)   http://www.youtube.com/watchv=5Mz9pDGHBTo&feature=related

Obviously, the war was not lost and our men should be sent home in defeat as was the unprecedented anti troop comments of Pelosi, Reid and who could forget Murtha.  By the way..where is Murtha these days.  After months of seeking headlines the man who undermined our troops with his words of surrender while they were on the battlefield, has disappeared from view...probably in shame.  Maybe the pictorial replay of that tragic day seven years ago could wake some people up to the world-wide threat (not just Afghanistan and Iran) of radical muslim jihad.

Georgia shouldn't have started murdering Russian citizens, America has taken military action for far less.

Do you mean [by surge]  the secret killing we can now do that is on the level of when tanks were first used?

We are too involved in overseas affairs.   We dont mind our own business.

We spend a ton of money to "influence"  this region and that region.   The using up of such resources 'takes" from somewhere else.

It isnt that easy to say. "see it worked".

Here is how to measure it.

The check out line at the grocer. The heat bill.   Those prices havent gone up...the dollar has gone DOWN.

How is it that we must be everywhere all the time?

We over throw governments. We traffic arms, drugs.  We unleash poisens.

We are pathetic.

Bloated militaries and overstretch often bring down empires. America was liked, listened ot and had far more influence when it was more concerned with economic might than military might.

Well, as I am not an American, and as you (and a couple of others) constantly remind me of this, I am at a loss as to why you missed my joke. Or perhaps you were joking, too? Sometimes it's hard to tell  .
