I think it best to approach this subject on the discussion boards instead of having emails directly to me.

To get straight to the point, I am a domme escort which means I receive pleasure from receiving money from my clients in exchange for giving them a very personalised and individual experience.

Instead of getting very very very abusive and personally disgusting emails. I throw it open for discussion.

i'm sorry, but i'm not sure what your asking. Do you want opinions on being a pro domme or receiving money or rude emails?

You are going to get the rude emails, no matter what, so don't sweat it.
You are being honest in your profile about what you seek. The only other thing I would suggest, and I am sure you do not do this anyway, is that you don't contact anyone and then ask for money. That is a big bone of contention around here. Frankly, as it should be. Wait for them to come to you, and delete the rest.
I am a part time Pro-Domina but My profile states I am not seeking at this time. I am also lifestyle, so perhaps I did not ever get the rude email you seem to be experiencing. I would get the occasional unsolicitied and angry mail, which I just ignored.
There is nothing in the TOS that states a Pro cannot have a profile.
Your photo is lovely and hopefully you have the skills.

Hi Katie, I'd say you're hardly the first one to bring it up. This is the most recent one, brought up about two weeks ago.

We usually get at least one thread a month about financial domination/escorting.

Surprisingly, no one has piped up. But then maybe that is to be expected, being that it would be a public confrontation rather than an anonymous rant.

I don't know why some guys go off when they see a profile from a pro domme. I think they feel their self-worth is being threatened.

Came across one of my fave Alanis songs recently, and a line in a song always resonates with me:

I too once thought I was owed something

So often we get upset because we feel other people OWE us something, that we SHOULD be being treated a certain way, that we have a right to put others down for not living up to our ideals.

I think if we let go of that concept, that we're somehow OWED something from others...that we'd not only be far more often pleasantly surprised, but not be so worried and annoyed all the time.

BTW this has nothing to do with pro-domming, more just the overall topic of people getting pissed about other people's choices.

Every single one of us gets -something- out of this experience. For me, money is a form of energy. It is not good or evil in its own right -- it is strictly how it is USED, like any other tool, that determines the measure of good or level of damage it can bring to bear. Money isn't what -I- look to get out of my M/s experience, so I'm not interested in going pro... but I can't look down on anyone else for getting what -they- want out of this, because I surely look to get what _I_ want from this, and every, relationship.

At the same time, for everything we get, there is something that we are called to give in return. All of us negotiate the return on any investment given, and hope that everyone involved will be honest about what is being exchanged and what everyone expects to come away with in the end. In this, it is no different than -any- negotiation between people to determine how they will interact. The only difference is that the concept being discussed between them is a "hot" concept called "money", and the conversation is going on in a society that is deeply plagued with "deprivation mentality".

That said, as long as you are honest, and you give what the client and you have agreed is fair value for what you are offering, more power to you. May you enjoy financial energy in plenty. There will always be those who give tribute, then get angry with themselves later for having done so, and turn around and attack the recipient for their lapse in personal decision-making, and there will always be those individuals who don't give fair value as agreed upon, and make everyone else look bad in their rancid reflection... but if you are honorable and straightforward, people will come to know you, and respect you...and even if they don't overtly respect you, at least they won't have any cause to -dis-respect you.

I am in favor of paying for a service you desire, no matter what that may be. I am in favor of charging for a skill you possess, if it is done up front and expectations on what you get for said money is clear.

I do cringe at some of the profiles, but the answer is quite simple. I don't contact those people. Why would I be concerned if someone else chooses to do so?

I do like that Alanis song though. I am guilty of feeling I should be treated a certain way though. It is not so much I feel owed, but that I feel you teach people what is an acceptable way to treat you by your reactions. I am annoyed a lot though, so perhaps I should think about that!

Just as a quick P.S. on this. Throwing this out on the boards is not going to stop the rude email. The ones writing those emails are quite unlikely to have ever clicked over to this side.
You have a photo (very important on searches...*Smiles*) and you are going to get a good amount of attention. I am not sure how long a profile says on the "new profile" list. But some of that attention is going to be negative. Just go with the flow.

I don't know too much (or anything) but I would think that a "pro domm" would be quite necessary in this lifestyle, as many may have ideas and fantasies and urges that may take a lifetime of match.com profiles to finally hit the sweet spot -- at what point in a new relationship do you reveal your true desires? Do you wait until you are in love? Do you out yourself immediately (and face immediate rejection)? Also, many here are very young, and still figuring out their sexuality. A pro domm could be a taste of the bittersweet life. And sometimes.... (only sometimes).... one may realize that it's fun as a diversion, but not as a permanent lifestyle. And others may feel "I'm Home -- this is how I need to be".

And, michael, that is just fine. What is sad is that Katie is geting unsolicited rude and abusive emails just because she has this in her profile. If you aren't interested, then I am sure you would just pass her by. Unfortunately, other do not and feel it is appropriate to be obnoxious.

How does it follow that because you take cash, you are submissive? Do you feel dominated when people pay you for a good or service? When you pick up your weekly paycheck, do you do it from your knees? When you buy a hot dog, do you feel like you have placed a collar on the hot dog man?

A client will pay for a service, that service is dominance. The fact that he pays in cash, as opposed to affection, or a relationship, or some other sort of service, is irrelevant.

As for being submissive for following guidelines...all (law abiding) dominants do it. That's what makes this who consensual slavery/submission acceptable in modern society. If you are not following some guidelines, you are downright dangerous. Where those guidelines come from is rather irrelevant as well.
