Hello There,
I think some people are attracted to the opposite sex & some are to the same sex.
I realize external factors do sway some from their original path, but overall I think your orientation and preference sticks with you.
The notion of good and bad does have influencial factors as far as acting on your instincts, but does not change the urges to start with.
Sincerely,
sub suzanne

It is my opinion we are natually bisexual, born as sexual beings but without a sexual preference. It is society that conditions us to believe one way is good and another bad, and in a sexually repressive society, very bad. What's your opinion?

I tend to agree with you on this in part. I further beklieve that each pwerson for what ever reason has a stronger leaning towards one ser or another, or both if you are bisexual.. To illustrate this I'll quote a hetrosexual mate of mine who wisely commented that: "I know that some where out there, there is a bloke to whom I'll be sexually attracted to. I just prey to God that I never meet him."

To a very large degreee it is society in the past which has forced people to supress their leanings or even admiration of the same sex.

Candy, you need to quit sugar coating things and tell us how you really feel. :)

Well, lemme give it another shot then. Little girls are sugar and spice and everything nice -- though some want sugar when they grow up. Little boys are rough and tumble, like to get dirty, and run better -- though some want to go on playing rough and tumble when they grow up. And some little girls and little boys grow up liking rough and tumble and also liking sugar.

And they all lived happily ever after.

LMAO. Did i satisfy, ExSteel?

i am not sure about that one....society has been telling me, my whole life, i should get turned on when i see a man. Hasn't happened yet, and i don't see it happening any time soon.

Perhaps you missed my (quotes) in which i said some Men grow up to like (Men) and some women grow up to like (women). And i apologise; i forgot to add some Men and women grow up to like (both).

You should be fielding the asinine questions i get from Men about being straight..."are you sure you're not bisexal?' Repeated over and over, usually in a whiney voice. LMAO. No matter what your orienatation is, somebody out there objects.

Ah, the old "nature vs. nurture" question which I thought had been put to rest quite some time ago with the discovery of structural anatomical differences between the brains of heterosexuals and homosexuals, and I believe recently within the brains of bisexuals.

"Nurture" (ie: societal conditioning) cannot cause such structural differences, supporting a long time gay assertion that they were "born this way" and thus ending the "nature vs. nurture" debate.

i say we open the floor to the flat earth debate and begin there; we can roast an effigy of Gallileo, LMAO. (Easily combined with the witch burning and book burning set for tonite for the harlots and demons amoung us who U/use S/slahes, ROFLMAO.)

I don't its any easy question and ignores that some people do chose their sexuality for political or social reasons and some just change over time or in certain situations.

i am 52 years old and have never yet met someone who tried to change their sexuality. i know some gay Men of my generation married women and even fathered children, but they were almost all "cheated" with another Man. And i'm none too sure how one tries to be a lesbian...i suppse we could include Madonna offering another woman a huge sum of money to kiss her in front of a tv audience. (i forget who she kissed.) My gay and lesbian friends are quick to point out, they seek gay and lesbian partners; they are not attracted to straight people. And i guess a bisexual person has felt pulled both ways during their lives -- but that pull surely comes from the heart, not the head.

There is a great deal of research that tends to point in just the opposite direction: that people are born with tendencies that are genetic. A friend of mine who does genetic research told me he believes that 90% of human behavior is genetically programmed. Personally, I think that's way too high. But we aren't blank slates upon which social pressures and conditioning are then imprinted.

My Ph.d. dissertation was on "Genetics and Freewill". I had access to the ethics dept at the Human Genome Project in MD. After looking at some of the information coming out of the project and the Minnesota Twins Separated at Birth studies, I have to believe that a very small portion of who we are is conditioned from society.

We are probably only able to choose what we want for breakfast. Everything else seems to be part of our biological makeup. There may be environmental triggers that trip on or off certain genes, but besides that, we are who we are. Kinda takes away any guilt or shame some may feel about their kink....lol

It's worse when people ask how you can know that you are bisexual when you haven't been with both men and woman yet.

There IS such a thing as a stupid question.

dear, fl dark horse,
greetings,
it is'nt anything ,but ,science
polygamy, outlawed ,by society, explained,by anthropology,
to ensure the fittest genetics, etc
all our social mores built, into ,and, enforced, by the foundation ,of science
,or defended legally ,as different, by religious freedom-morays.

what's your foundation ,or backing,to differ?;
is all you will be seen, as ,with your opinions....

what ever you do ;it's already been done, before ,
and,it's somewhere ,in science,
or can be found somewhere ,in the volumes,of knowledge,to proove it,
"bi-sexual,is ,not ,in opinion!
opinion's matter ,only ,when- they make, up the magor ,influence,in your environment,(ie: your audience ), so....
how much can "opinions" count,to bi-sexual ,as o.k. ;approoved,or ,not....?
