--  thats an interesting topic.   I was appalled that when I went to the dentist- a Tv was there a few feet from the dentist chair. yikes.

I doubt this will catch on in the US

I can especially with other media forms.
You can get TV on the net a.k.a. the small small screen.
Mind you we need a technological revolution to maintain it.

Video over the net needs to be tended to...it isnt as automatic as leaving a TV on to yell its head off yacking for hours at a time.

Before we give up t.v. entirely...[sm=buddies.gif]remember there are other popular pasttimes in Finland that make being a couch potato seem relatively safe.

I know some online Finns who enjoy sourcing the most potent alcohol, usually absinthe mixed with something else and then going out into the forest with guns. Where they live it is one of those places where there is nothing but trees and grass lands for as far as the eye can see, all covered in snow in winter.
