ORIGINAL: auroraborealis yeah Ashima is a bit for some folks to wrap thier minds around.. just like my first ums name Sakima. When he was little they always looked at him funny when they would ask his name.. then look at me like he didnt know his own name. LOL He usualy goes by Sam for the kids at school right now because they just cant get it. He does like his name.. and it means a lot to us. I think calling out Ashima, Sakima.... just sounds right.. it has a good tone to it.. and both are meaningful. As for Josephine.. it would be Josie for short. I love that as a shortend form of the name. Matthew is a good name too. I have been combing the bible for name ideas.. Ashima is in there too. Gwyn i think the names that you have picked out, matches nicely with each other ~Ashima, Sakima. And if i were you, i'd probably go with that. You say that most of his school friends call him "Sam", with Ashima, she would likely also have it shortened by school friends ~ probably Ash, or Ashley. i do think its best to avoid using names outside of what you began with, with choosing his name to be indian, its probably in the best interest, (and family peace) to stick with that, for any and all future UM's. personally, i have 5 UM's, all first names begin with an "A" (after the first two, i couldn't switch to another letter) i like my name choices i made for my 5, for my own reasons, (i tend to be a bit of a organization nut, and so, naming all of them with the first same letter, fit nicely into what i find as being "organized"...lol and so, i do not expect you to wish to use one of my choices, but since i so do love the choices i made, here they are: Ashlynn Alyssa Alaynie Acayla Aiden i also equally love the middle name choices i made, for the females, because i felt i had a chance to be a bit more "unorganized" with those choices.
