lovingpet -> Get Well Soon... More Than Well Wishes (9/14/2008 3:15:22 PM)

As many on the boards are aware, I am in a new relationship with someone who makes me grin like a complete idiot.  That's the good news.  The bad news is we just had to miss time together because he is sick.  I want to do more than just send a few get well soon messages, but we do live two hours apart.

I would love to hear some suggestions from the domly ones around about what your special one/s have done to make you feel better from afar.  I want something that's more than words.  Unfortunately, coming and directly caring for the ailing one is not an option either.  Any ideas?

I'm not a domly one but one of my former domly ones did something that made me feel oh so very special when I was sick once upon a time.

He sent me a care package with a get well soon card, a teddy bear to snuggle with, one of his t shirts (it smelled like him), my favorite chocolate, a gel ice-pack for my head, meds to make me feel better and super soft fuzzy socks. I never forgot how it felt to open that box. He didn't mention it at all when he would call to check on me so it was a total surprise.

My first dominant and I lived together for 2 yrs before he rejoined the Navy.  Once he was there, a lot of our time was spent in an LDR.  If he would be ill (bad back), I would send him flowers, order pizza to be delivered (paid for online), or send someone to give him a massage.  He was equally good at covering the distance.

I've been in exactly one long-distance relationship, and she and I are still good friends.

One time, I was upset because something happened (having nothing to do with her).  I mentioned it in an email.  She sent me back an email with the subject line, "I hope this makes you feel better."  She had made a short video, paddling herself and then masturbating to orgasm while saying my name.

It certainly took my mind off my problems.

I want to give you some suggestions....but....I am not going to.

Because I sincerely believe that whatever you do for him should be something personal and unique that has meaning and value between the two of you alone and not a canned idea given to you from someone else.

If you know of a deli nearby that delivers, call them and have them deliver chicken soup and some kind of nourishing meal you know he likes. If there's a grocery store that delivers, since he hasn't been shopping lately, have them send tissues, cold meds, canned chicken soup, cooked chicken, fruit.

Otherwise funny get well cards both snail mail and email.

Thank you for the idea!  I don't know what I will decide to do yet.  Oh, and MadRabbit, rest assured I am not one to rip off some idea to ease my burden.  I am notoriously terrible at thinking of gift giving for men.  Ask any male in my family for whom I have bought a Christmas or birthday present.

I have some ideas that fit well with our dynamic, but I am just concerned they are way too girlie.  I know I'd like to receive them.  Then again, I'm a girl!  Do you think a teddy bear would be terribly inappropriate?  giggles

Now you see why I need help?  [8D]

The one thing that has stuck in my Lord's mind for the last several years is when I called him and said "I am proud to be yours."  Six little words that have meant the world to him and has stuck in his mind for more than three years.

Loving Pet,

I was recently sick, and my own loving pet was in your exact dilemma. She wanted to do more for me, to take care of me. There was simply very little she could do, physically, from far away.

So she gave me as much time as I needed. If I didn't feel like playing with her, she happily laid by my feet in spirit. Gentle reminders of medicine and offerings of her voodoo home wisdom were also nice. A care package or even a letter help close the distance. Everyone likes a hand written letter.

i have just recently discovered the power and magic of a handwritten letter :-)  E-mailing for so long, i had forgotten what it was like to touch the indentations of words on paper, to smell the lingering scent of the author, to feel the energy and personality that come thru their unique writing script....

It is a wonderful idea [:)]

Oh, and a porn scene for you two to perform when he's ready wouldn't come amiss. Girls like erotica, guys like porn.

And yes, send a teddy bear.

silkenfire -> RE: Get Well Soon... More Than Well Wishes (9/15/2008 7:13:24 AM)

As much as there is a love of porn over erotica among most of the males I've known, when they realize that some of my stories are about them or for them, it often makes it much more interesting to them (I write erotica on a fairly regular basis).

Yes, I do believe the teddy bear is in the cart now (bondage bear anyone?  giggles).  I know a way to a man's heart is often through his stomach, but that is the part bothering him.  As for the porn/erotica.... Well........ [;)]

You can bake cookies and mail them. If packaged with edible popcorn to protect them, he could eat that too. Overnight them.
