I had a similar problem for a little while.  In my case, when I sent email, it came back to me in my in-box, with my screen name on it, not the one of the person I sent it to; in fact, it never went to the intended recipient.  Oddly enough, it was caused by my just having installed Norton 360 and using their automatic log-in feature.  As soon as I disabled the automatic log-in feature for CM, all was well.  You might want to think if you made any changes to your computer shortly before this problem started.
