I've heard/read it as that the X's and Y's are produced in equal amounts, if it wasn't even produced MORE Y's that X's, but the Y's start dying off pretty quick, so unless every new "batch" of sperm is used up while it's fairly fresh there will be more X's that Y's present, resulting in more girls :) More frequent ejaculations will ensure a higher consentration of Y's, and higher chances of boys :)
