i don't know about an inner beast. When i go into subspace i call it swimming with the dolphins. i don't think that's the same thing tho.

heh . . . I wouldn't call it undommely, and it sure sounds kinky. I'll definitely keep it in mind in case my inner squirrel comes out.

fldrkhorse -> RE: Releasing the beast within (12/1/2005 11:12:55 AM)

I am a firm believer of that "inner beast." Actually I believe there are many inner alters if we choose to look. Reasons we choose not to look could be sexually inhibited, embarrassment, and fear.
Regarding sexual stimulation it takes one to be relaxed, wanting and accepting, and willing to explore. It takes all the senses to be stimulated. Unfortunately for men, we think sex is penetration. Sex is everything that leads up to penetration. The longer the process the more intense the response. The more senses excitited the more intense the climax. The longer the process the more we delve into, or become, that beast.

Mistress,
~grins to Her~
buffy has shivered before that incredible insatiable Beast within You when You honoured her with play, for which buffy thank You once again. That time spent with You brought out the wildcat which lives inside of buffy as well and in a major way. It also saw this beast tamed. You and all that You are, are quite simply amazing.
respectfully,
buffy

buffiyum -> RE: Releasing the beast within (12/1/2005 5:06:11 PM)

lil joy,
one think you are right and that it is not the same thing. When buffy enter any kind of 'subspace' it is something she is 'doing'. The inner beast which imerges during intense play or intense sex seem to be more what one 'is' than what one 'does'.
respectfully,
buffy

i think inside each of us is an incredible force, its very primal and pure and i say pure as in, non identifiable, its pure vast energy. i think sometimes when we touch on that, our belief systems cannot comprehend that its part of us and so we make an identification whether that be animalistic or whatever, we then mix our own thoughts with it and then that primal force takes on a personality, be that of a bear or wolf or some other entity.

That's an interesting perspective. Curious that as I was reading the thread (good topic, btw) I immediately identified with 'the beast within' as I've experienced it from both ends of the whip (so to speak). I was realizing that I never externalized it at all. It always been just another part of me and my experience.

Oh yes, there is a beast inside me. <smile> Ain't it great?!?

fyreredsub -> RE: Releasing the beast within (12/1/2005 5:53:55 PM)

i found my inner beast but i am still fighting her coming out[&:]her want scares me,she needs nurturing and a tight chain for the lack of control, the pure animalistic passion i found...well it unnerved me completely, yet i long for it again to emmerge.

LilWhiteWolf -> RE: Releasing the beast within (12/1/2005 6:04:18 PM)

interesting...the beast within...well as you can see from my name, i am the wolf and it is my spirit animal. the wolf is loyal, fierce and strong yet she has one Alpha ..smiling

HA! Now, I'd pay to watch that. <smile>

Misstoyou -> RE: Releasing the beast within (12/1/2005 7:53:09 PM)

I shocked a sub when mine was released once. According to him, I'm reptilian. If you can believe him, I was writhing like a snake, and my hazel eyes literally turned gold and glittered. It scared the hell out of him, and trust became an issue. Oh well...

I highly recommend "Women Who Run With The Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, PhD., to anyone interested in exploring animal totems and depth psychology.

That's cute that everyone imagines they have a noble or savage beast within. I wonder why nobody ever finds their inner possum, skunk or squirrel?

(waving hello to Buffy, and throwing her a kiss across the water)

I have an inner cat that comes out occasionally. Mostly she purrs and licks in complete satisfaction after certian wonderful events...But sometimes she gets playful and naughty and nips and scratches for attention. LOL

I have an inner otter. It reminds me to play more often and not to take everything seriously all the time. My Power animal... the one that comes our during sex is a Snow Leapord, very cute cuz my Masters is a Dragon and a Wolf.... both who would eat a Snow leapord for a snack. My magickal power animal is a Phoenix... as in rising out of the ashes.

Saint -> RE: Releasing the beast within (3/4/2006 8:22:35 PM)

I can understand the reticence your Master shows. I have to be very careful when I play or else I become uber sadistic and evil to the point where it truly scares the hell out of me and the poor submissive Im with at the time. Thankfully Im wise enough to be cautious and not let it out with that kind of outlet easily at hand.

*Shrugs* Perhaps thats why Im a switch who loves to let his inner dog out. Its healthier and safer for me that way I think.

thetammyjo -> RE: Releasing the beast within (3/5/2006 8:52:13 AM)

I'm not sure this is the same thing but furries have this inner animal they associate with.

Fox has, well, guess... a fox, an artic fox actually. Mine is a black panther.

greetings,
one is not sure if this is a subject already tackled.... one has found that during intense bdsm play, there is a 'beast' which seeks release from inside her. she only found this one other instance besides bdsm play and that was long ago during the sexual act. Now it is happening here on the cross at times and the more intense the scene, the more likely it is to emerge.
she wonder if others played with, have found this and also if Dominants have found that They have Beasts inside Themselves which appear during those momentes as well?
buffy had hoped that the beast within her was a wolf as Some of her best and dearest Friends, are Wolves (meant in a most respectful and good way to say this)..... but buffy is not a wolf (dangit), she is a wildcat and it seem that the type of animal is not a choice, at least for her.
That was the other part of the question also..... do Tthose who find there is a 'beast' inside which comes out during scenes, find that Tthey have little, if any, control over what kind of beast emerges?
respectfully,
buffy, whose inquiring mind wish to know

It's normal.

Many folks that engage in ARP (Animal RolePlay) either have roots with that very thing, or it rose from that experience.

Not ALL ARP is acting out the anmal or dressing up like one, and not all ARP revolves around BDSM either.

I have several animals within me. The main one is a wolf. Interesting enough though I enjoy doing ARP in the convential BDSM sense, it is always as a Handler/Trainer - and not as the animal.

My animals aren't something I dress up to feel or embrace. Often when we are playing very hard, my various predators within me will come roaring to the surface and yes, when there - they WILL go for a throat and seek to wrest dominance from the situation they find themselves in. And other times they simply feel SAFE to come out. And that part will come out and snuffle mentally around and just watch. And other times, they will stalk - I've had one submissive experience that and they found it very intense.

It's one reason I have to be careful with who I choose to top me and make sure someone that KNOWS me and my moods - like Ray - is there to intervene and bring me down, unless I have been restrained. There comes a point when I'm being scened REALLY hard where I *will* go for the person scening me. So either it's someone like Ray who can often see that pop into my eyes befire I even know I'm about to go there, or someone like him is standing by and watching so they can step in and handle me. It's also why we don't tend to play hard in public - it can scare people, it's very intense, there is a LOT of energy expelled, and the power of that energy just crackles and ripples and for those not used to that can be frightening since they don't have a frame of reference to understand it and I am incapable of explaining it until later.

Primal is a great word for it. And it IS spiritual for me. I am part native american so there is a shamanistic quality and essence to it for me as well that is very earthy and has a timeless feel to it.

It's pieces of me laid bare and they are some of my basest qualities, and at times they are VERY fluid - I can jump from one to the other very quickly, and other times it's just one making it's appearance.

So no, you are totally NOT alone. And for many of us it is a treasured and cherished piece of ourselves and our souls, as cheezy as it might sound, it is nonetheless very true.

I often wonder how I'd react differently, if I would - if that was tapped when I was in the wilderness - not a backyard, nothing urban or tamed or domesticated, but wild. I'm not sure of there would be more serenity or more energy or more of that roaring essence.

Hmm. I think I'm rambling again. Sorry!

Could be. I have elements of whales and dolphins that surface. Also seals. *grin* And otters!
