Do any of you Master/Doms/Dommes feel that your sub/slave having an enriching career, one that gives them a great sense of pride and accomplishment, is a hinderance to their serving in a 24/7 TPE? How does your sub/slave change hats, so to speak when, they got off work and get home to serve? Do any of you have issue's with these things in your D/s relationships?

My having a career is going to be a huge part of my 24/7 TPE relationship with my Sir. I don't have one now. I have a job I hate and that is going no where. I'm also greatly lacking in the education department. My Sir plans to send me to school and use his knowledge to prepare me to get a career that will keep me excited and well paid.

It is very important to him that I become a self-sufficent woman who is capable of taking care of myself. He wants me with him because it's my choice and not because I need someone to help support me. To us that makes my submission much more meaningful.

As far as changing hats once I get home I have full confindence that he will be able to get me in the head space he wants me to be in.

thank you liltlepita....for sharing.....that is kind of how i always would imagine it should be...

gets into wondering if i'm off on a wild goose chase and not hunting unicorns in my travels......
*sighs* time 4 java-----

I hope I am not out of line to post to this... I think it would greatly depend on what type of job one had. For example, I work in a customer care call center for a national bank, I know well to set a goal of a leadership type job down the road would destroy me emotionally, I dont do well in such even though my knowledge and ability generally has me promoted or pushed into management, in the past anyway. What I struggle with is actually being aggressive at times with callers, To have to say no and not just give in just because it would make that customer happy. I am even doing roleplay type exercises with my Master at home to attempt to get me into a more dominant frame of mind when dealing with a aggressive caller and maintaining control of the call.

but in general... I am very much the personality that I am not agressive enough in general to have it effect my attitudes at home when done with work... I am merely freer to express my personality at home without the boundaries of professionalism needed in a work place such as mine.

-really hopes that made sense --

I Don't have a problem with a submissive having a career, as long as she knows who comes first. I think its a great outlet for a sub, as long as 'changing hats" doesn't become an issue
