Greeting All:

i know this subject has been discussed a lot in fact that is why i am confiused on something i read.  There was a mention on one post about screams when a soap enema was given.  Can someone explain more on that.  Is soap that painful, is the screams pleasure or pain,is this any kind of soap or just certain kinds.  What about other things used do they cause pain too .  Thanks for the info

patina,
Unless there is a caustic element to the soap, the reason it can be causing pain may be due to the bubbles. Air causes cramping. It's why you must make sure there is no air in the tube no matter what fluid is being used. If you use glycerin soap you get the clean without the bubbles.

Unless of course, pain is your goal.

RealSub58 -> RE: soap enemas (9/20/2008 8:19:27 AM)

The Merc's are correct...speaking as a nurse.

But consider something else.  The mucosa of the rectum is alot like to mucosa of the mouth.  If it burns the mouth, like tabasco sauce burns mine, inserting more caustic fluid into the rectum is also gonna burn.

Several purposes for enemas:  to clean the bowels out for prep or for some play type fetish.
If pain is the purpose of the emema as a fetish, then you must consider that burning the mucosa is actually not healthy and quite dangerous.

Giving/receiving enema's is not a benign activity as most people suppose.

i give myself enemas on a weekly basis ..sometimes 2 or 3 times a week ..i use just regular water ..2 or 3 bags ..i have a 2qt bag ...and im pretty clean for my mistress to play with my ass [:)] love strapon play and being fisted by her ...love being clean for her and she loves me that way too [:)] makes anal play that much more enjoyable for both ..i figure thats the least i can do ...sometimes she gives me the enemas ..really adds to the submissive experience when she does so ..but most times she wants me clean for her inside and outside and naked when she walks in the door [:)] i do find them to be refreshing after knowing i am clean too ...have fun mal

Thank you all for your replies, i am talking to a Dom who is into enemas.  I am willing to try, he has a lot of the Gorean outlooks i prefer, he said i was to continue my Gor lifestyle we will incotporate both if it works out.  I have been researching enemas and saw in one post about it causing the girl to scream, that worried me i am not into pain.  i have a pretty high tolorance just not my thing.

Again thanks for the help.

Some girls are just more into screaming... [;)]

The old traditional "3-H" enemas....High, Hot and Helluva Lot, can be pretty uncomfortable (I've heard) but screaming?  I guess it depends (so to speak [8|] ) on who's on the receiving end (again, so to speak [:-] )

malloves69 -> RE: soap enemas (9/20/2008 12:49:00 PM)

enemas are not painfull at all i think ...colder water causes cramping but dont make the water too hot either ..the first one i feel bloated and full ..but once expelled im ready for the second and third one to make sure im really clean for my lady [:)] the third one i can almost get 2 bags full in ..almost 4 qts ..but once emptied out im pretty clean for her and thats why i do them [:)] good luck mal

Good, clean fun! *weg*

RealSub58 -> RE: soap enemas (9/20/2008 2:10:18 PM)

Just like douching too much can change the pH of the vagina, so can enemas.
Removing all probiotic flora on a consistent basis, will and does change the dynamics of the digestive tract.

Too much can be damaging.  Bulemic purging ~ enemas and induced vomiting is alot like too much of  a good thing in using ememas.

I am most postivie a GI MD would agree with me.

IR -> RE: soap enemas (9/21/2008 3:35:43 AM)

If your goal is a painful enema try adding a little lemon juice to water. Juice of one small lemon on a liter of water will do. It causes cramping.
Make sure you use a enema nozzle with a balloon though because it is not possible to hold this enema without a plug of some kind.

Ouch - soap tends to dry out mucous membranes leading to dehydration and cracking of delicate tissues, I definitely don't recommend soap enemas, using soap as a lubricant, etc., and in some cases perfumes and other additives may cause further irritation, and not in a good way.

If pain/irritation is your goal, then there are numerous substances that can cause irritation without increasing the risk of cracking or breaking the skin - figging, for example, and one could boil Ginger root to obtain the active ingredients in liquid form where they could even be combined with more effective lubricants for the best of both worlds.

If sanitation is your goal, then exploring natural antibacterials are probably your best bet, there are numerous herbs with antibacterial properties that can be easily obtained and combined with water or water based lubricants/moisturizers and there is good potential there for olfactory cuing, i.e., the association of a specific scent with a specific stimulus.

Extracts of Ginger do have antibacterial properties for example:

quote:

Abstract:
The antibacterial activity of raw and aqueous extracts of Allium cepa (onions) and Zingiber officinale (ginger) against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, (from high vaginal swab) that are common cause of nosocomial (hospital-acquired) and urinary tract infections was investigated using the cup-plate diffusion method. The result showed that ethanolic extract of ginger gave the widest zone of inhibition against the two test organisms at the concentration of 0.8gml-1. However, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was more sensitive to the extract of onion bulbs compared to Staphylococcus aureus. It was also observed that the solvent of extraction and its varying concentrations affected the sensitivity of the two organisms to the plant materials. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ginger extracts on the test organisms ranged from 0.1gml-1 - 0.2gml-1, showing that ginger was more effective and produced marked inhibitory effect on the two test organisms compared to the onion extracts. This investigation indicates that, though both plants had antibacterial activity on the two test organisms, ginger had more inhibitory effect thus confirming their use in folk medicine.

I suggest that you don't let the post about screams put you off. There is nothing inherently painful about enemas, soap enemas included. In fact they can be done in an extremely sensuous and erotic and even soothing manner. Or they can be done for punishment purposes and be very, very uncomfortable and/or humilating indeed. The soap (or other solution) is only a part of the equation. If the giver is experienced he will know what to do. If you trust him, then trust his judgement. If you don't trust him then you shouldn't be playing with him anyways.

As with any activity it's a very good idea to discuss it before doing it. Be sure you both understand what is involved with the experience, what you want to get out of it, and agree upon what you are going to do beforehand.

I used to watch this soap enema when I was 12, but then they switched my school time to the afternoons...and I couldn't watch it anymore.

We use plain warm water for prep enemas prior to any vigorous anal play, which is generally more than sufficient when administered in the right amount, held within long enough for the water to do it's work softening any internal 'stuff', and flushing it out entirely.  One repetition, and that seems to do the trick.  Occasionally, for 'extra vigorous' anal play, we will add a bit of liquid castille soap made specifically for enema use, purchased from a medical supply company.  It comes packaged nicely in single use pouches similar to the ubiquitous 'ketchup packets', 100 to a box.  As long as any air pockets are removed from the tubing prior to administering this soap-and-water mixture, no cramping occurs and it can indeed be a very erotic, calming experience.  It certainly goes a long way towards soothing any anxiety the bottom may have about being clean and allows them to focus on the experience freely.

We actually brought this issue up with our physician, who told us that we should not have any problems as long as we stuck to these guidelines and did not overdo it.  As has been stated by others here, he did point out that the rectum is a fairly thin and delicate mucous membrane, and the lower intestine does absorb chemicals compounds directly into the body.  The popularity of wine enemas in the 70's for the instant intoxication - and the mortality of some of those folks from alcohol poisoning is an example of the this and the inherent dangers that could be associated with getting 'creative'.  Doc also discussed the symbiotic balance of micro-flora and fauna within the human gut which makes digestion and excretion work and cautioned against introducing any antibiotic element -  especially antibiotc soap - which might upset this balance.

As has also been mentioned by others here, we have learned on our own that the use of cold water - or the introduction of air - is very effective in causing pain.  The cramping can be INTENSE, but it isn't permanent.  Certainly uncomfortable.  Anyone who has squirted a cold Fleet disposable enema up their rear can attest to this!  When travelling, we have purchased these handy little plastic bottles.  We just fill the hotel room sink with hot water and warm them up a bit - sorta like baby bottles! :o)

Please do not even think of using bleach - even in small amounts - as it is caustic internally.  Ditto with alcohol, which would be akin to poisoning yourself or your partner.

Have fun, be safe, and send me the pictures! :o)

Ever notice how kids scream and hide when you have to wipe their noses, give them medicine, etc?  Well, I think screaming from an enema is kinda like that - more drama than any actual pain or discomfort.  But, for how we play, sometimes drama is good.  I think of actual bodily openings as being a bit sacred in terms of play, and my attitude is that pain just doesn't belong inside the body.  I would not put Icy Hot or Caustic Soap in a sub's eye, so I probably wouldn't put it in his or her butt either.  That's just me though.

I have read about coffee enema’s (some detoxification ritual). Because the lower intestine absorbs chemicals into the blood it would also absorb the caffeine in the coffee. This would explain why the writer clamed a coffee enema would charge you up and make you feel good.

Does anyone have any experience with coffee enema’s?

There are page fulls of recipe ideas for enemas on the net and they'll tell you if it's likely to cause pain get you drunk etc. We just use warm water and always have done. It can be a tad uncomfy at times but definitley no pain or screaming and I'm noted as a squawker. It's painless it's fun and it makes you horny so where can you go wrong?

On the other hand, one cannot be sure they aren't talking about sticking  a bar of soap up your ass - which could be quite painful I suspect. This however, is technically a suppository, not an enema.

W/Regard to the latter, I've had good results with Cocoa Butter suppositories - Queen Helena makes a Cocoa Butter solid in tubular form at just about the right diameter to make a good butt plug, and while it does require some time to fully melt, and Cocoa Butter alone is a less than perfect lubricant, it should help protect delicate membranes preventing them from dehydrating.
