Alice08 -> Love Slaves (9/20/2008 7:14:11 PM)

Hello,

I would like to find out more about love slaves- what it usually involves, how people feel about it, etc. I have met someone I have an intense mental and physical attraction to and this term has come up. We both feel it would be good for me to learn everything I can, talk to other submissives- know what I am getting into. We are taking this very seriously, he has been in the scene awhile but I have not (in this role at least). I understand every relationship is different, but the more knowledge I have the better. So, can anyone give me some information on this subject?

Thank you!!!

The only definition that matters is his and yours.  From what I understand, it is someone for whom love is the primary motivation in their service/submission/slavery.

What Cali said. There's no way you're going to get a single firm definition in here. It's always going to be differing among the people...

I agree with Cali though. :)

Love my way.

Psychedelic Furs.

That's about how it will shake out.

Oh yes, I know. That is what I am hoping for- to see what it means to people. I know there is not a cookie cutter answer for anything. I'm hoping some people will post that have had this type of relationship, to see what they think about it.

I have never been a sub, I was actually a top (but not really a Domme) for the past year. When I first started talking to this Dom, I didn't realize what a deep, serious, mental connection it could be. That in this kind of relationship I would be trusting someone with my soul. It is sinking in to me what this actually means, but I'm hoping people WILL have different views so I can see what makes the most sense to me.

Thank you for posting! =)

I am not sure I understand the question or the difference between a slave and a love slave. I will agree with what Cali has said.

I have a Master, we are in love and he considers me his slave but he has not ever used the term 'love slave'.

Alice08 -> RE: Love Slaves (9/20/2008 8:32:34 PM)

It is a specific term, not just you love someone or you don't. It is a form of the way you serve I think. Some people like pain, some like humilation, this is serving from pleasure, along with a very deep mental connection. I wish I could explain it better, but if I could I probably wouldn't need to ask about it =)

And I don't know enough about regular D/s relationships to know how they might be different. This is just a specific term he mentioned that I was trying to find out more about.

Thanks for posting =)

I've never heard the term "love slave" before in an actual Ds sense.  I've heard it used in vanilla pop culture to denote someone so in love with someone they'd do anything for them and the other person usually knows it and is embarassed about it.

These forums will give you more information than you want- try the search button up there and put in some terms.

Love slave is generally a Gorean term, one used in the books. Perhaps you should ask your question on the orean forum board.

NumberSix -> RE: Love Slaves (9/21/2008 7:39:56 AM)

kajira doesn't necessarily mean love slave, (just slave) many oreans will attest to that.

However, there are limitations to humans, i.e. there are only so many ways to form a woman for torture, but they may seem endless in their variation to her.

but yeah, love slaves exist in Gorean thoughts, too.

Lol, i know what kajira means. But in the books, which i read long ago because i like science fiction/adult fantasy, love slave was a fairly often used term.

Preposterous," said Samos. "She is only a slave, only a thing to serve, and to beat and abuse, if it should please me."
"But is not any slave," I asked, "even a love slave?"
"That is true," said Samos, smiling. Gorean men are not easy with their slaves, even those for whom they care deeply."

note here; i am not a Gorean by any stretch of the imagination. Which is why i i suggested asking this question on their forum.

Love slave is generally a Gorean term, one used in the books.

Words like surrender and belonging come from the lexicon of love, and Norman operationalized that belonging to a legal fact. In his fictional world, slavery is institutional and commercialized. But the setting provides him with an opportunity to explore masculine and feminine psychology. Usually we think of romance in terms of the girl falling in love, and finally surrendering herself to her lover. But on Gor, the romantic scenario goes the other way. The girl finally meets a Master who can draw from her her surrender, and she falls in love with him. In this psychological sense, Gorean slavery is the enslavement of love, and the most perfect of slaveries is the right Master with the right girl.

I've only seen it used as sex slave in a monogamous relationship. I suggest strongly you ask him what his definition is. Because if he's thinking Gor, and you roll your eyes at that, you will find yourselves at an impasse quickly.

angelspassion4u -> RE: Love Slaves (9/21/2008 8:55:56 AM)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
A love slave is aperson that, usually, would do anything for affection from their "master". Love slaves can be men or women. In some fictional work, particularly, sitcoms and animated television series, a love slave is adepicted as a person with hearts in their eyes.

Also their is a loveslavemagazine on line. That can be looked at.  There is a few things you can find by googling it.  That's what I did.
