I saw the tongue in cheek, and love it.    Lay on the guilt...  As punishment-
make him watch endless hours of the campaign coverage or a loop of Hannah Montana & the Jonas Brothers.

Barney the Dinosaur, Suze Orman, the 700 club?

i often use such stuff (in somewhat more concentrated form) just to get all fuzzy and ready for nasty and painful stuff i wouldn't do that easy otherwise. :) i fail to see a punishment there.

sblady -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/21/2008 1:22:36 PM)

Make him watch Lifetime, LMN, WE, the Oxygen channel....nah, that's overkill.[:(]

As long as he's at your beck and call moreso than usual and can determine what you want/need before you say it should be sufficient.

While I understand your concern, as someone employed in public health I feel I must tale the time to point out that this tactic wouldn’t work.  This was a mild virus, once exposed, we have/will develop an immunity to it.  The common cold is, in fact, hundreds of different viruses (which is also why there is no ‘cure’ other than just getting it and developing naturally antibodies).  Clean the apartment makes sense if we were expecting company, but once he brought it home, it was all over- he would have been ‘infecting’ me even before he himself was symptomatic.  Thus, once I saw he was sick, I knew I was ‘doomed’.

Now…who let sfdrw out of his cage?!  Back, beast!  [sm=poke.gif]

You didn't specify a rhinovirus. There are plenty of viruses that can be gotten more than once.

LadyLupineNYC -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 5:37:27 AM)

Ok, that's true; this is clearly some head cold that we shared and will no doubt end there. And, to make SURE of that, I am home from work. Nice thing about working for the health dept, they don't give you crap about sick days, you get these like 'you're awesome!' emails. I personally stop what I am doing and praise anyone, no matter where I am for 'proper' coughing technique. I am a pandemic influenza expert, so you can imagine.

So I ask- tongue in cheek- other than making him eat my germy tissues, what’s a good punishment for a slave who makes his/her Master/Mistress ill?

Isn't it obvious? Look at him coldly, assume an expression of utmost contempt, and snarl...

"You make me SICK!"

*eyes lowered*

zakkan -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 7:53:57 AM)

I have an idea! Get him to read this thread and choose one "punishment"! That will be enough punishment for a long time...

Huntertn -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 6:33:20 PM)

He is going to feel bad enough as it is..why make him even more so?  I have no doubt he is more than willing to wait on you hand and foot no matter what!  Besides, a commom cold is just that..common and unavoidable, as any one with kids in school will tell you......[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m21.gif[/image]

LadyLupineNYC -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 6:39:31 PM)

yes yes...this posting was all in good fun...for those looking for an update...I had him spoon me ice cream while I was in a nice bubble bath.  I have no idea how he managed. I am such a cruel bitch! [;)]

lovingpet -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 6:56:37 PM)

Such cruelty!!!!  It's just plain delicious!

Even though it really serves no health purpose, I say combine both sets of ideas. Have him clean to exacting detail the entire house, take care of his ailing Mistress, and do it all with Barney and the rest of the gang pounding in his tormented ears!

suessub -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 9:00:07 PM)

As you lay then on your sickbed, him kneeling at your side, start to let him know all the ways you will torment him when you well again. Let him know the longer you are sick, the more time you will have to dream up ways to 'make him pay' for sharing his germs with you.

WhiplashSmile2 -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 9:09:32 PM)

Ahhh... make him crossdress as a french maid, or shove him into a nurses uniform while he's waiting on you hand and foot.  Ummm.. wait that not might be real punishment.

I know when I'm sick, all the noises I make are punishment enough for anybody around me.  lol

Same here, hard to believe a small woman like me could make noises like that. I inherited my grandfather's sneeze, for instance. It used to make me wake up and cry as a kid. [:D]

monywildcat -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/22/2008 11:35:07 PM)

Spongebob, lots and lots of Spongebob.

And The Fairly Odd Parents.  Those with kids will understand.  I would rather eat the tissues.

OR you could always watch endless hours of Discovery Health.  I "discovered" (lol!) during my recent bout with a nasty tummy virus, that they have childbirth and adoption shows on during the day.  He'll love that!!!

Make that the only song allowed and keep it on loop [:D]

I say a loop of the "I love you" Barney song for 5 hours straight will be sufficient. It will be stuck in his head forever [:D]

I love you, you love me...[sm=friends.gif]

with a KICK and an PUNCH and a KNOCK 'IM TO THE FLOOR...

no more purple dinosaur! [sm=river.gif]

Willowmoon -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/24/2008 12:14:07 AM)

If you work in health services then you would also know that you could have had the virus before he did and have been the one to pass it to him. Our bodys all react at a different speed to produce an immune response just because he got symptoms first does not mean he got the virus first.

LadyLupineNYC -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/25/2008 5:03:21 PM)

First off, I am not in the medical side, but the emergency management side/policy.  Second, I am well aware of the lifecycles of many forms of communicable diseases, especial upper respiratory.  Therefore, I put my foot down a yesterday and ordered him to the doctor, something he attempted to not do since he as no health insurance (you can thank the US government for yet another way they a screwing our combat vet *grrrrrr*).  Anyway, he has taken a turn for the worst (I, btw, have fully recovered) and he was given antibiotics, which, in this case, will probable do very little but which is the standard treatment.  Poor thing [:(]

daddysliloneds -> RE: How do I ‘punish’ this? (9/25/2008 5:20:57 PM)

punishment should be(tongue in cheek), staying with the same partner who states that their slave made them ill.
